When the cold wind hits, I get flaking and sometimes irritation. Exfoliating or using scrubs only makes things worse and actually irritates my skin, leaving it red and damaged. I received this as a gift, so I wasn't sure how to use it at first. Since it's labeled as a night balm, I didn't think it would work for my face. When I opened it, it turned out to be more of a rich emulsion formula rather than a true balm. My hands were actually stinging and itchy from severe dryness with sudden flaking, so I decided to try applying some to my hands. Even though it has an oily feel when I apply it, the moisturizing power is really impressive. The flaking calmed down quickly, and the irritation and sensitivity I had improved noticeably after just a few uses. I've heard the price point is quite reasonable too. I wish it didn't contain mineral oil. The PEG ingredients are also disappointing. Dermatologist-recommended regenerating cream that's surprisingly affordable. Arrived quickly. Not ideal for sensitive or reactive skin. The fragrance is oddly irritating—it has a sharp, spicy quality that feels like it could trigger inflammation. Unlike scents that fade quickly, this one lingers persistently. I'm puzzled because many reviews mention it's fragrance-free, but this is definitely noticeable—not something you'd miss even if you're typically insensitive to scents. It's an unpleasant blend of medicinal and cinnamon-like notes. Texture thickness ranking from heaviest to lightest: Cetaphil, then this one, then Physiogel. Hope this helps!
