This product has a stretchy, thread-like texture similar to natto, and the more you tap it, the more it produces. When you apply it as a spot treatment without tapping, it creates a thin film on the skin, but if you touch your face without realizing it's there, it comes off like dead skin cells. When applied to inflamed acne or rosacea, it definitely calms things down. The more frequently you use it, the faster the soothing effect works (though you will notice some flaking on your face). The results are so good that I plan to keep using this going forward. As it dries and forms that thin layer, on days when my skin is extra sensitive and itchy, the slight feeling of something on my skin makes the itchiness a bit worse, so I skip it on those days. The scent is alcohol-based. It does sting a bit, I won't lie... but it absorbs so much faster than when I was using Acnebar. After just one day, you can actually see a visible difference in your skin. It's pricey... really pricey. I know AESOI isn't cheap to begin with, but for the sake of the environment, I wish they'd offer a larger size... the shipping costs make it feel even more expensive. I think the AESOI emergency series works best when you use the products together as a set. My previous spot treatment got discontinued, so I tried several alternatives and this ISOI emergency spot product really seems to work the best! What I love about it is that whether you have small or large blemishes, when you apply it generously to your skin, they noticeably calm down by the next day! I've also noticed it works great on breakouts and problem areas beyond just the face - they settle down quickly. The only downside is that the size is quite small. It runs out pretty fast with regular use, which makes it hard to justify buying outside of sale periods. I'd recommend using it right after hydrating your skin with a toner or essence for best results.
