It does have some primer qualities, but it's not quite as effective as a dedicated eye primer. I picked this up after seeing a YouTuber recommend it, and I have to say it's so comfortable to wear on my eyes! The staying power is seriously impressive. This shadow applies beautifully without any powder fallout, and it blends like a dream. If the shade had just been a better match for my skin tone, I honestly would have loved it even more. The formula is really impressive, and with the right technique, you can even use it as a liquid eyeshadow. I was really hoping for a deep, cool-toned gray that would work perfectly for smoky eyes based on the name "Deep Smoke" and the description of a cool gray finish. Instead, what I got is a muted, desaturated medium brown that's not deep, not smoky, and definitely not cool. The shade actually works better for warm, muted undertones, but since other muted shades in this line can be used as a base, I really think this color needs a name change to better reflect what it actually is.

Honestly, I was really surprised because it performed better than I expected! At first I was shocked, but then I thought it could work as a contour product, so I applied it along my nose line and blended it with my fingers, and it actually looked pretty good? So now I'm using it regularly as a contour! I had another contour before, but no matter what I did, my nose never really showed definition, which was disappointing. But with this one, you can actually see the definition and my nose looks more sculpted, which I love! Oh, and you can also use it to fill in your eyebrows. I think it would be super handy for trips to the water park! My eyes feel sticky and tacky... so every time I open my eyes, there's this sticky, sticky feeling, and when I try to remove it, it doesn't come off easily. It feels like there's some kind of adhesive mixed in.

The color is beautiful and the texture is so smooth and velvety—I'm definitely buying this again! It's labeled as a primer, but honestly I didn't really notice it doing much as a primer. That said, it's totally fine! I'd say it works more like a really long-lasting base product.
