It would make a thoughtful gift without feeling like you didn't put in effort. The color is a soft, milky tea shade, and it actually smells like milk tea—not overpowering at all, so it won't make you feel queasy. It's a genuinely pleasant milk tea scent. Since it's a lip balm, the color barely shows up on your lips, which is fine—it's just a nourishing balm. It melts on your fingertips and spreads smoothly, though like most jar-style lip balms, it does feel a bit sticky once applied to your lips. My mom loves it more than I do because her lips are naturally drier and this really helps with that. The jar format is convenient, but honestly, unscrewing the lid and applying it with your finger gets annoying. Personally, I'm not a fan of layering other lip products on top of this one. Looking at the ingredients now, I'm not thrilled with what's in it.
