If you're someone who loves sweet fragrances, this is absolutely perfect for you. The scent is strong and lasts beautifully throughout the day. When you first apply it, the fragrance might feel quite intense, but as time passes, the lingering scent becomes even more lovely. The Velvet Rose cologne has such a lovely scent. It's really unique and not something you see everywhere. The fragrance is distinctive and doesn't clash with other perfumes at all. Compared to other Jo Malone fragrances, this one doesn't seem to have the lasting power I was hoping for.

It's perfect for spritzing on during spring and summer when you want something fresh and light. I usually love both unique and bold fragrances, but this one didn't have the lasting power I was hoping for. The scent faded faster than I expected. First of all, the scent is absolutely amazing. Since it's a dry oil, it absorbs incredibly fast into the skin. I have dry skin, so during the harsh winter months, I layer it with other moisturizing products. The fragrance is so lovely that it actually inspired me to buy the matching perfume too. The spreadability and absorption were great by my standards. (It might be because I massage it in gently, almost like a massage ritual.) The fragrance also lasts longer than I expected, and both the initial scent and the dry-down are lovely. My skin is extremely dry, so this works wonderfully in spring and fall, but come winter, I'll probably need to switch to a richer moisturizer like a butter or balm formula. I can't believe there are so many potential allergens in this... I'd love to repurchase it for the fragrance and how nicely it applies, but considering the ingredient list, I think I'm better off using a dedicated moisturizer and just wearing perfume instead. It's disappointing. If you warm it up slightly and apply it with your fingertips using gentle, massaging motions with real care and attention, it feels almost like you're getting a little workout while you're at it.
