The Kate Fit Rare Gel Pencil BR-2 is absolutely fantastic because it draws with such a fine, precise line. The ultra-thin tip is perfect for filling in between your lashes, and the deep brown shade is just dark enough to define your eyes without looking harsh or out of place with any makeup look. It's not as intense as black, but it still gives you beautifully defined eyes, making it an ideal everyday color. Best of all, this pencil barely smudges and has excellent staying power. When I apply it in the morning, the line stays put well into the afternoon without major fading. The gel formula glides on smoothly and sets quickly, which makes it especially great for anyone who deals with oily eyelids that tend to cause smudging. It's a twist-up automatic pencil, but the design doesn't allow you to retract the tip, so you have to twist it very carefully and gradually to get the right length. If too much product comes out, you can't push it back in, which feels wasteful and the tip can break easily if you're not careful. Other than that quirk, it's honestly a fantastic product with no real drawbacks! If you want to boost the longevity even more, here's my go-to technique: First, use this gel pencil to draw a thin base line. Then, gently press a matching eyeshadow shade over the line to set it. Finally, use a liquid or pen-style liner to draw a thin line on top. With this layering method, your eyeliner stays flawless all day long. I'm talking truly smudge-proof, even on days when your eyes are extra watery or during hot, humid summers. The staying power is seriously impressive and the application is so smooth. I used almost the entire product when taking that photo, and even scraping out what was left, the coverage is fantastic and the hold is genuinely excellent. The price is a bit steep, and it rarely goes on sale, which is disappointing. This eyeliner truly doesn't budge! My eyes tend to smudge makeup easily, so when a friend recommended it, I had to try it. I was amazed when my regular eyeliner completely faded away while the Kate eyeliner stayed perfectly in place. I was so impressed that I immediately bought it and now it's my go-to product. I'm not sure if it's just my eyes, but the formula tends to break or flake during application, which is a bit disappointing.

If you find liquid liners or pen-tip applicators tricky, please start with this one instead. The formula doesn't flow backward smoothly. If you're someone who loves eyeliner, I really recommend this one! It's so thin and precise, which is absolutely perfect. Since it's a twist-up style, you need to be careful not to push it up too much when applying. The best thing about this is how thin it is - it lets me draw smoothly from the inner corner all the way to the outer corner of my eye without any tugging or dragging! Incredibly thin and it really stays put! The formula is so smooth that it's super easy to control, and since it's a pen, I can easily erase and fix any mistakes if I mess up. I've been using this for 5 years now and I've gone through so many tubes that I've lost count! Once you twist it up, it won't retract back inside. You can't tell how much product is left, so you have to buy a new one ahead of time whenever you think you're running low. I've been using Shiseido eyeliner pencils for ages, but they're so expensive and I kept losing them, so I finally found a great alternative! Shiseido, Kiss Me, and Clio all have amazing application and staying power, but Kate is super fine and precise - it draws such a sharp, clean line. Love it! The only real downside is that the product amount is pretty small, unfortunately. If you want your eyeliner to last longer, make sure to apply powder eyeshadow both before and after drawing your eyeliner.
