The black one has that temple-like smell mixed with a masculine skincare vibe, but this one smells like flowers. It's similar to the treatment bar from this brand. I've switched all my shampoo and conditioner products to this brand. I'll probably switch to their body wash too once I finish my current one. I have oily skin, and while this product works well, if I'm just looking at results, the black one was better (though that black shampoo bar's scent is way too strong). If you have combination skin, you absolutely need to try this product. It keeps my hair oil-free for over half a day, which is amazing! Of course, if you only use the shampoo bar, your hair will feel rough. Please use it together with a conditioner bar or treatment bar! I wish it had the same effectiveness as the black shampoo bar. Since this is the scalp-soothing line, it feels a bit gentler. It doesn't control oil quite as well as the black one does. Just rub it a few times on your crown area and work up a lather. Since it's a concentrated bar, it creates plenty of foam! For bar-shaped products like this, if you stick it into the bottom of a plastic bottle cap to store it, the water drains really well and it stays nice and dry.

I tried a kelp-based product from another brand because it was supposed to help with scalp odor, but it was too harsh and caused some breakouts and scalp tightness. So I switched to that brand's black bean shampoo bar instead. It doesn't control scalp odor quite as well, but I didn't experience any discomfort using it. I decided to order this one because I wanted to try a shampoo bar from a different brand. Since it's a slightly acidic formula, my skin doesn't feel irritated at all. My hair feels calm and noticeably softer. Lately, maybe because of the dust in the air, I've started experiencing some scalp itching, which wasn't an issue when I first started using it. While the calming and softening effect on my hair is definitely a plus, I'm a bit disappointed because my permed hair seems to lose its wave a little, which is a shame. The lather is amazing, which means the cleansing power is really impressive. This was my first time trying a shampoo bar, and it exceeded my expectations! The fragrance is quite noticeable, but honestly, it wasn't for me. I decided to try it because of the buy-one-get-one sale. I've used a total of 4 different shampoo bar brands so far, and Kesseri shampoo bar absolutely takes the top spot when it comes to fragrance. True to what you'd expect from a quality shampoo bar, it does an amazing job of removing excess oil from my scalp and leaving it feeling fresh and clean. My seborrheic scalp condition has improved so much! It's not particularly impressive. If I had to point out what's disappointing, it would be that there are only 2 versions of the shampoo bar available. I wish they offered more variety so I could choose the right formula based on my specific scalp type. To make your shampoo bar last longer, use it with a foaming net like shown in the second photo.
