Because it absorbs so quickly, it feels refreshing, but it's definitely not a lightweight sensation. Instead, you get this wonderful feeling of continuous hydration that really lasts! Best For If you have sensitive skin like me, I absolutely recommend this! With other products, it just feels like you're getting a quick moisture boost, but when you use this one, the redness in your skin actually calms down. And after that, even when you layer other products on top, you experience way less irritation! Dispenser Design The toner bottle has this clever dropper-style opening that makes it so easy to control how much you use. With regular toner bottles, product tends to get messy around the opening and drips everywhere, but this one has a pointed nozzle so you don't have that problem at all. It's such a thoughtful design detail! The only downside is that if you try to transfer it into one of those bubble toner dispensers from the drugstore, it barely creates any bubbles. Plus, it actually leaks from the bubble dispenser. So I'd recommend just using it straight from the original bottle. Pro tip: Layer it on about 3 times in thin applications, and you'll get much more concentrated hydration with less product overall! This water-based toner feels incredibly hydrating when I apply it, and it absorbs nicely without any issues. I think it works especially well for people with dry skin rather than those with oily skin. The product applies fine to my face, but after it absorbs, I notice a lot of excess oil coming through, which was disappointing for me since I have oily skin. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want that oily residue. That said, while the oil does come through, I didn't experience any irritation or breakouts after using it. Since this is a water-based toner, I pour some into a spray bottle and keep it in the fridge. I use it a few times after cleansing or whenever my skin feels dry. If you're concerned about the excess oil but still want that hydrating feeling, try what I do: apply a sheet mask and spray this toner over it several times. I pour this houttuynia hydrating toner into a spray bottle, add a few drops of rosehip oil or jojoba oil, and use it as a hydrating mist throughout the day on both makeup and bare skin whenever my face feels dry.
