This has a Rust Douglas style that feels moisturizing and delivers a subtle, not-too-intense auburn tone that's absolutely perfect as a base shade. I'd definitely recommend using it as a base layer rather than wearing it alone. It's frequently out of stock, and since the color doesn't show up very prominently, it's even less visible on me with my tanned skin. For someone like me who doesn't want the hassle of applying it solo, this shade feels a bit disappointing. Just so you know, the lip photo isn't just the auburn shade by itself. I actually lined my lips with Cool Teddy and then applied the auburn tone only to the inner part. If you want that matte finish but are worried about emphasizing dry patches, this layering technique works really well. My lips feel so comfortable and the taupe nude shade is beautifully subtle and gorgeous. Depending on the light, it has this cool yet warm vibe that I absolutely love. Compared to MAC's other lipstick lines, this one seems a bit smaller in size, but the price is actually higher. The staying power isn't quite what I was hoping for.
