But these days, I mainly use it as a base lip color. MAC applies so smoothly and densely that the nude lipsticks really shine through beautifully. Since my natural lip color is quite deep, it has a slightly muted rosy pink tone, but honestly, there's nothing else besides MAC that can tone down the color effectively. Even though it has a matte finish, the application is really smooth. It's not quite as matte as Retro Matte, but it definitely has a matte feel to it. I'd recommend applying it before moisturizing your lips and then layering your final lip color on top. Personally, I use this a lot in a muted tone during winter. This toned-down coral pink shade is absolutely perfect for light to muted undertones. I love that it has a matte finish because glossy formulas just don't work for me, and this one is exactly what I needed. I used to love this shade years ago, but something feels different now—it seems like they've added more orange to it? I really preferred the softer, pale pink-beige tone it had before. I've never actually finished a lip product before, but after receiving this as a gift, I ended up buying two more! I thought the shade was too light to use on its own, so I planned to just layer it as a base. But honestly, it's such a gorgeous pink coral that works beautifully solo—no patchy or uneven application at all. During the harshest winter months, I do notice some dryness and flaking, which is a bit disappointing. When that happens, I pair it with a lip gloss and the dry patches smooth right out. If I apply a generous layer of lip balm first and then use the liquid tint on top, the color comes out more muted and sophisticated.

Even though it's a matte lipstick, the application is really smooth and easy. The color payoff is excellent, and it doesn't emphasize dry patches or flakiness on my lips. Like most matte lipsticks, it does get a bit dry after a few hours of wear. I've used so much of this I've lost count! If you're looking for a lipstick with a subtle white undertone, I'd definitely recommend it. Since it's a lipstick, it does tend to fade throughout the day. That said, the color is really unique and hard to find elsewhere!

The warmth is immediately visible, making it a naturally flattering choice for anyone whose skin tone matches these warm hues. Base: This shade works wonderfully as a base layer. Since the color doesn't stand out, it's perfect for everyday wear and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a no-fuss daily option! Longevity: Compared to my previous base product, the staying power is really impressive. My old product would fade after eating, but this Runway Hit shade stayed put throughout meals and the rest of my day. Texture emphasis: This formula is quite matte, and I mean really matte. Even after exfoliating, it highlights every tiny flake on my lips. If you have sensitive, dry lips like me or struggle with visible texture, I'd skip this one. It's not the best choice for lips that need extra care. In the third photo, the shade on the right is Runway Hit, and on the left is the classic cool-toned Pink Sand from Rom&nd. I took this comparison shot to show you how warm the Runway Hit shade really is.

1. Color This is a classic nude lip shade, but it has more saturation than you'd expect, so it looks beautiful on its own. The color sits perfectly between soft pink and peachy salmon tones. 2. Color payoff My lips are naturally quite pigmented, but when I apply foundation to neutralize my lip color first and then apply this, the color shows up beautifully even though it's a light shade. I really love that. 3. Longevity The color stays put on my lips even after drinking water, eating, or blotting with a tissue. That's exactly what I want from a lipstick. 4. Versatility The size is perfect for carrying everywhere, and since it's black, it doesn't show dirt or stains. Plus, I can use it as a blush and eyeshadow too, which makes it super practical. 5. Formula It's a matte lipstick, but it doesn't feel dry or patchy. It applies smoothly and gives a natural, soft-focus finish that I really appreciate. I honestly can't think of any downsides. The price is also reasonable compared to other department store lipsticks, so it's definitely worth it. What I love most is that this one lipstick does triple duty for my lips, cheeks, and eyes, so it saves me so much time and effort.
