This matte lipstick applies beautifully without feeling dry or tight. The formula has a rich, creamy texture, so I recommend using a lip brush to apply it for the best results. Without one, you might end up with uneven, patchy coverage. The product itself doesn't really have any downsides. I picked it because I absolutely loved the color, and the scent is wonderful too. The texture is exactly what I prefer! The color and application are absolutely fantastic! I'm completely obsessed with this product. For warm undertones, this shade is absolutely unbeatable! I tend to use a lot of deep undertone makeup products. I purchased this from the MAC official website during their sale. When buying lipstick, I focus on longevity, color payoff, and how it handles dry patches. What I loved: - Color payoff: 5 out of 5 stars The color applies beautifully! It's so pigmented that even a light tap gives you gorgeous color. - Shade: 4 out of 5 stars It's a deep orange-red without any pink undertones. I absolutely adore it! - Dry patch appearance: 4 out of 5 stars Even though it's a matte formula, it doesn't emphasize dry patches as much as I expected. I applied lip balm before using it. What I didn't love: - Longevity: 2 out of 5 stars It holds up okay when I'm not doing anything, but it fades as soon as I have a drink. The application is so smooth and effortless. The color payoff is absolutely gorgeous and the case design is so sleek and minimal. This is seriously the best! The biggest advantage is that just one swipe gives you such a beautiful finish. The scent isn't particularly pleasant, but the color payoff is so pretty that I can overlook it. I received this as a gift when I thought I had a deep undertone, and I've been using it since then. I think if people with deep undertones try this, it would look really stunning and beautiful. The shade didn't work for my skin tone at all - it looked like I'd applied a muddy, mismatched color. I'm usually a huge fan of MAC's Retro Matte lipsticks, but this one disappointed me. While it does have a matte finish, there's an odd shine to it that makes the texture feel off.

It has that signature MAC lipstick scent that makes applying it such a pleasure. Since it's such a dark, intense red, if you're not careful with the application, it can look a bit too harsh or dramatic. It looks absolutely stunning when you blend it into a gradient effect during the fall season.
