I'd watched a lot of YouTube reviews and had tried it before, so I knew that despite the name Coffee Break, coffee isn't actually the main note. When you first spray it, you get a clean lavender scent that feels quite masculine, but after a few seconds it transforms into a creamy lavender fragrance. It's almost like a lavender emulsion? On my skin, the coffee comes through like a latte with lots of milk—subtle and sitting in the background. Interestingly, when I sprayed it on my clothes and let them flutter, the coffee scent became the dominant note. So I realized that when you wear it, you'll notice the lavender more, but people around you might pick up on the subtle coffee instead (though I could be totally off base here). If you love neutral fragrances but aren't into woody scents, and you're drawn to gourmand fragrances, I'd definitely recommend this one to you. The staying power is pretty disappointing on both skin and clothes—it only lasts about three hours. I was drawn in by the word "coffee" and decided to try it, but no matter how many times I smelled it, I couldn't detect any coffee scent at all. This fragrance gave me a serious headache. Usually, even when I dislike a scent, I can still identify what fragrance family it belongs to, but this one just smelled like it triggered a headache the moment I put it on.
