It glides on smoothly with a dewy finish, not matte at all. The color payoff is fantastic too. The only thing is that even though it's a dark shade, the color shows up so well that it's easy to see where one color ends and the next begins.

For lighter skin tones, it works wonderfully as a shading product when doing contouring makeup, but since it has a reddish undertone, you'll want to be careful with how you use it. I'm really disappointed that the shade range jumps from 21 straight to 30, skipping shades like 23 and 25 entirely. Sure, if you're a makeup artist (and this is a professional brand after all), you can mix shade 21 or 13 to create custom tones, but since they sell online and more everyday customers are discovering the brand, I wish they'd expand their shade selection with more detailed options like shade 23. Plus, the reddish undertone is way too strong in these shades. Perfect for shading and blending!
