I didn't feel like the quality was lacking for the price at all, and I genuinely think this product is worth every penny. What I especially love is how smoothly and creamily it glides on while still maintaining excellent staying power! I'd definitely recommend it. The Cruella shade is a deep burgundy tone, but because of its unique texture, it applies much lighter than other lipsticks in a similar color range. You need to layer it a few times to see the full depth of the shade. Despite being such a rich color, it applies beautifully without any streaking or patchiness, which makes me think this is truly the overachiever of the lipstick world. I think this is a perfect product that nails all three elements: color, texture, and staying power. The texture is especially amazing! When you apply a regular lipstick with your finger, it feels like a quick swipe, but this one feels like a soft, feathery glide, almost like rolling a cloud between your fingertips. It's one of those lipsticks you absolutely have to try at least once in your lifetime. Bottom line: it's absolutely fantastic. I'm someone who loves colored cosmetics regardless of their scent, but for anyone curious, I'll mention that it has that classic vintage rouge fragrance. When you open the lid, it brings back memories of playing with my mom's makeup collection, and it has such a nostalgic quality to it. I actually love this scent, so the fragrance alone was a bonus for me. I'm definitely planning to repurchase. There's no tint staining, so if you're expecting a long-lasting color deposit, you might be disappointed.

I have three red-toned NARS lip pencils, and this Cruella shade is definitely the most true red of the bunch. It's a matte lip pencil that glides on smoothly and adheres beautifully to the lips with a natural finish. The color payoff is wonderfully subtle and natural-looking. If you want a bolder, more intense look, just layer it two or three times and you'll get exactly what you're after. I use this shade mostly on its own. When I fill in my entire lips with it, I get this sophisticated, polished vibe—and sometimes even a touch of that sultry edge. What I really love compared to regular lipsticks is how the pencil format makes it so easy to define my lip line perfectly. Honestly, I think this color looks best when applied all over rather than as a gradient. It just looks more stunning that way. The downside is having to sharpen it constantly. It's honestly a bit heartbreaking watching all that beautiful color get shaved away with each sharpening.
