Since it's free from additives, it's so gentle and doesn't irritate my hair at all. The curl hold seems pretty weak. It runs out way too quickly, and honestly, the amount you get is just too little. I have a sensitive scalp, and I tried Orut Vegan Curl Cream because it's free from harmful ingredients. When I apply it directly to my scalp, I don't get any breakouts or irritation. My previous curl cream would make my scalp itchy and cause bumps when I used it near the roots, but this one is so much better since it doesn't contain any harsh chemicals. The texture is a bit thick, but it absorbs beautifully into my hair and gives me gorgeous, defined curls. When I apply it to dry hair, sometimes it doesn't spread as smoothly as I'd like. For dry hair, I find it easier to apply if I lightly dampen my hair first or mix it with a hair oil before using it. After getting a perm, I was looking for a curl cream with quality ingredients and discovered this product. I used to use a different brand, but compared to that one, this feels less heavy and sticky. What I really love is that even after I apply it and dry my hair completely, my curls don't look weighed down or overly wet. Since it's not as thick and tacky, I'm wondering if it just doesn't provide enough hold, or maybe I'm not applying it correctly. Lightweight: I love how this doesn't feel heavy when I use it. I was a bit worried since it's a cream, but it has such a light, airy feel. Fragrance-free: The hair products I've used before tend to have strong scents, but I really appreciate that this one is unscented. Ingredients: The formula is definitely superior compared to other hair products I've tried. It not only enhances my curls but also contains nourishing ingredients that are really good for my hair. Easy to wash out: Most hair products don't rinse out well with just water, but this one washes away cleanly, which is fantastic. No side effects: I haven't experienced any irritation or adverse reactions on my skin, even around my neck area. Sealed opening: When I opened the product cap, the opening was sealed shut. I had to use a tool to open it, but no tool was included in the package. I ended up using the tip of scissors to pry it open, and I really wish they'd included an opening tool. Small size: The amount of product feels a bit limited. If you have longer hair, you'll probably go through it pretty quickly. Inconsistent results: The effectiveness varies depending on when I use it. Sometimes it works great, and other times it doesn't seem to do much, which is disappointing.
