It does have a hint of opal shimmer, but the pearl particles are so fine that you won't even notice them. It applies like butter, melting beautifully onto the skin, and the luminous glow is absolutely stunning. That said, once it's on your face, it does settle into a slightly more matte finish. I usually gravitate toward beige-toned highlighters that complement my skin tone perfectly, so I was a bit disappointed that this one is white pearl instead.
