I used it about 4 times and then stopped. The color is absolutely gorgeous - it works beautifully as a lip base, looks great when I overline my lips, and even works nicely as a blush. But here's the problem: the flaking is really intense. No matter how much I prep and moisturize my lips beforehand, the dry patches show through terribly and it transfers everywhere, making it basically unwearable. Dryness that comes with matte finishes Because it's part of the zero matte line, your lips can feel increasingly dry over time, and the product can settle into fine lines or emphasize dry patches. On days when your lips aren't in great condition, it's really difficult to apply without a lip balm base first. Color staying power is just average Thanks to the lightweight, powdery texture, it doesn't transfer onto masks much, but after eating, the color fades quite noticeably, so you'll need to reapply frequently. Since it doesn't stain like a lip tint, the longevity is a bit disappointing. We recommend using it after applying lip balm and defining your lip line First apply a thin layer of lip balm to hydrate your lips, then gently blot with a tissue to remove excess oil before applying the lipstick. This gives you better color payoff and significantly reduces texture showing through. This matte formula applies with a soft, powdery finish that blends beautifully. I'm honestly puzzled by how people manage to wear this—it applies so messily on the lips that I can't help but wonder what their secret is. The Shell Nude shade especially has a lot of white cast, so even just applying it highlights every fine line and dry patch dramatically. Wearing it alone is basically impossible, and whenever I try to use it as a base, it looks so patchy and emphasizes texture I didn't even know I had. There's just no way to make it work. If you're thinking about buying this, I'd really recommend swatching it on your lips first before deciding. It feels so smooth and looks so much more pigmented on the back of your hand, but the color payoff is totally different once it's on your lips.

The color payoff is absolutely amazing! I barely had to apply any pressure, and just a light swipe gave me such rich, vibrant color. If you have deeper undertones, this is the perfect shade to use as your base. This is my go-to product right now, and I absolutely love the packaging. Romand really nailed the design. The color applies cleanly without any streaking, and the gradient blends beautifully. There's a subtle warm peachy tone to it that's just gorgeous. The texture is incredibly soft and powdery with an airy finish, and it glides on smoothly and feels weightless. It does tend to settle into fine lines and emphasize dry patches. On its own, the shade feels a bit too muted and washed out. 1) Since it's such a nude shade, wearing it solo feels too understated for me, even though I have warm undertones. I like to use it as a base and layer it with a deeper red in the same matte finish for a gorgeous gradient effect that really pops. 2) This product is incredibly versatile - I use it as a lip tint, cheek color, and even eyeshadow base. It's honestly a multi-tasking essential. It looks especially stunning when I apply it to my cheeks.
