One pump is enough to cleanse my face thoroughly, and after rinsing, my skin feels nicely hydrated. Usually when my skin gets that slick, oily feeling, breakouts follow right away, but this cleanser didn't cause that. Instead of just coating my skin with oil, it seems to lock in moisture from within so oil doesn't build up. That's why I feel the soothing effect is really effective. Once my skin calms down, the redness fades and my complexion looks brighter. The oil control isn't quite as squeaky-clean as some cleansers, but the calming effect when my skin is sensitive makes this a great product in my opinion. The scent has a strong artificial, powdery woody vibe. I usually like woody scents, but this one doesn't really appeal to me because of how synthetic it smells. It's hard to describe, but it almost has a plastic-like quality. That said, the fragrance isn't overpowering, and it's really just the artificial feeling that's strong, so it doesn't bother me much when I use it. This might not be the right fit if you prefer a squeaky-clean feeling and thick, bouncy lather. I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin. However, it's absolutely perfect for dry and sensitive skin types. If you have combination or oily-combination skin, you can use it, but if you prefer that squeaky-clean feel over a smooth, dewy finish, this probably isn't for you. Since this product uses carefully selected natural ingredients like Ecocert organic materials, coconut-derived cleansing agents, and grape water instead of distilled water, the production cost is on the higher side. I think this is an ideal product for morning cleansing or for a gentle evening face wash. Since it's so non-irritating, it works wonderfully as a second cleanser in a double-cleanse routine too!
