What's undeniable is the elegant femininity and sensuality that flows through every note. Yet alongside this allure exists a nurturing, maternal aura that embraces and protects all living things. It evokes the image of Mary in prayer, veiled in a grand cathedral, or Michelangelo's Pietà. La Religieuse means "the nun." This fragrance is a captivating contradiction—a fallen nun, a decadent beauty with an unexpected twist. And true to form, the signature darkness of Serge Lutens runs beautifully through this scent as well. Because this fragrance embraces such beautiful contrasts, the harmony between jasmine and musk wraps around you more gently than Serge Lutens' typical intensity. This softer balance is genuinely one of its most compelling features. I have no complaints—this is a fragrance I treasure, so I use it sparingly. It sells out quickly, which is frustrating. I wish I'd bought the 100ml size instead of the 50ml, and I really regret that decision now. One important note: the liquid is a deep purple color, so be careful when applying it.
