It's labeled as an emulsion, but honestly it feels more like a toner. The scent is barely there, which is great if you prefer fragrance-free products. It does provide some gentle exfoliation, making it perfect for everyday use. It's pricey. For an exfoliating toner at this price point, you end up using it like water because it's so lightweight, so it runs out quickly. Plus, the bottle is more fragile than you'd expect and breaks easily.

After distilled water, galactomyces is the second most abundant ingredient, though the signature scent is quite subtle. I tried this product for the first time as a sample, and while it's SK2's only skin toner option, I'm disappointed that it can't be used as a standalone product. It feels really hydrating and does a great job of tackling that annoying inner dryness The price is way too high and it's not gentle on my skin. My acne completely flared up. Since it contains fermented ingredients, you need to be careful with it Your skin barrier needs time to adjust to it

My pores appear cleaner too, which helps my other skincare products absorb so much better. I also love how it strengthens my skin barrier, making my complexion feel firmer and looking beautifully matte. The gentle exfoliation removes dead skin cells without any irritation, leaving my skin incredibly smooth and silky. My skin tone looks more even and brighter overall—I'm really impressed! The best part? Most toners contain alcohol, which can irritate sensitive skin or make it feel tight and uncomfortable, making them difficult to use when your skin is already reactive. This toner is alcohol-free, so I can use it even when my skin is sensitive without any stinging or irritation. It feels so soothing and comfortable to apply. This is an exfoliating toner! It contains AHA, which helps refine and smooth away dead skin cells. You can use it as your very first step before applying SK-II treatment essence or any other skincare products. I found the SK-II treatment essence had a scent that was too strong for me, so I gave it to my mom instead. I'm really enjoying this clear emulsion though! It does have fermented ingredients, but there's barely any smell, which is great. I used to primarily use toners that mixed both AHA and BHA together, but I have to say, this one with just AHA is noticeably gentler on my skin. There's no irritation at all, and as I use it, my skin naturally becomes smoother and more refined as the dead skin cells are gently removed. The main downside is really just the price point. If you're looking for a gentler exfoliating toner, Korean beauty brands have plenty of affordable options out there.
