The texture is just thick enough that it doesn't run, and even a tiny amount spreads beautifully across the skin. It's incredibly easy and comfortable to use. I've been reaching for this constantly lately. With products like Ptera Essence or Clear Emulsion, I felt like they were replaceable, so I wasn't that excited. Plus, the scent didn't work for me at all, so I barely used them. But with Zenoptics Essence, it feels like there might be alternatives out there, yet somehow nothing quite compares. It's that kind of feeling. The price point is quite steep, so I can't apply it as generously as I'd like. Until my early thirties, I never dealt with oily or dry skin. But now in my early forties, I have combination skin with severe dryness around my mouth and between my nose and upper lip. The tightness is really intense, and I find myself constantly reapplying lip balm throughout the day. I even apply skincare twice around my mouth, and I always keep lip balms and multi-balms on hand. My usual skincare routine is simple: toner, essence or ampoule, and cream. I don't wear makeup because I hate that heavy, suffocating feeling on my face. When I go out, I apply sunscreen, and I'm trying to do it at home too. I only use tone-up creams when I'm heading out. When it comes to product textures, I prefer water-based exfoliating toners, toner pads, ampoules, and essences with a watery or slightly gel-like consistency. For creams, I choose hydrating ones over rich nourishing creams, and even when they have some nourishing benefits, I prefer lightweight formulas. Some heavier creams feel too heavy for me. For sunscreen, I look for essence-like, lightweight formulas without white cast. I haven't found my perfect match yet, but overall I go for products that are light, non-greasy, and blend seamlessly. Lately, I've been concerned about dehydration, pores, excess oil, sagging, and dark spots and blemishes. Before using this product, I do a quick exfoliation and cleanse, then wipe with a toner pad. The scent is subtle and feminine, with a consistency like honey syrup, and it contains a delicate pearl shimmer. The texture spreads smoothly and blends beautifully. The absorption is impressive—even when I apply a full dropper, it absorbs quickly while keeping my skin hydrated. On the back of my hand, it spreads moistly with both hands, and on my face, I applied it about three times. It spreads evenly without clumping and feels hydrated, though there's a slight tackiness compared to a single application. I didn't apply a separate cream after. Applying one dropper to my face feels good, and if needed, applying it again works well too. Honestly, it's funny to talk about results after just one day of use, but my face looks brighter and the texture seems smoother. My pores look clearer and refined. Even my palms feel incredibly smooth. I'll definitely revisit this after a week of use and update my review. If I remember, I might update it again after a month. I'm looking forward to seeing how my skin feels after a water cleanse tomorrow morning. I especially love that it doesn't irritate my eyes. A few hours later, after washing my hands, they felt incredibly smooth and soft since I had applied so much product there. It seems to work immediately. The next day after a water cleanse, my skin felt smooth with no roughness. I'll use it for a few more days and update further. The downside is the high price. Even though it's from a famous brand, I wasn't interested in using it. Since I have oily skin, I only used Johnson's Baby Emulsion, and I was happy with just sunscreen, so I wasn't interested in other products. Currently, I prefer affordable options or multi-purpose products from home shopping or single items. I love all-in-one products. A friend suggested that if I have dehydration, I should apply ampoules or essences in between steps, so I've been using them for about a year now. But I often just finish with a cream. The product I chose was 30ml, but what I actually used was 50ml. The product name is also slightly different. Maybe it's because my skin tone is naturally deeper, so I don't have many spots to begin with? Regardless, the feel of using it is so nice that I keep reaching for it. When you use it consistently, your complexion really does become brighter and more radiant. My parents actually bought the same product, and it seems to work even better for older skin. After using this, their skin became incredibly smooth and noticeably improved. It's quite pricey... I received this as a gift, but I don't think I'd purchase it with my own money.
