This shade adds just the right amount of life and color to my lips. As someone with naturally deep lip tones and cool undertones, this was absolutely perfect for me. The case discolors easily. If you love muted, understated shades with lower saturation, this product is perfect for you! The color has a subtle brick tone to it. I'm not a fan of products with pink undertones, and I'm happy to say this one doesn't have any pink or staining whatsoever. It's an ideal shade for fall and winter looks. I dropped it once and it shattered. Other than that, I don't have any complaints. I was worried that a muted tone wouldn't work for me, but it's actually not as cool-toned as I expected, so I'm really enjoying using it. The application is matte, but it goes on so smoothly that I'm really satisfied with how it performs. The shade turned out to be less cool-toned than I anticipated, so if you have a cool complexion, you might not be as thrilled with it. Plus, it tends to fade pretty easily, so you'll need to reapply it several times throughout the day. I also noticed that if your lips are on the dry side, the formula can emphasize any flakiness. I picked up this new lipstick from Skinfood during a sale at a great price! The Mauve Almond shade is supposed to be cool-toned, and since I have the same skin undertone, I decided to grab it. The texture feels silky when you first touch it, but when you actually apply it, the formula glides on smoothly without any flaking—I absolutely love that! When you layer it on gradually, the color builds beautifully and naturally, almost like a watercolor effect. It's so pretty! The downside is that even though this lipstick is marketed as cool-toned, the actual color reads quite warm, and I think it might work better as a base product. If you have a light undertone like mine, it might be tricky to wear on its own. This applies so smoothly! It's a velvet lipstick with amazing color payoff. The lip liner coverage is excellent too. I can tell they really paid attention to all the details! The color matches my natural lip tone perfectly. It applies sheer and lightweight, so it doesn't emphasize dry patches or flaking. It blends beautifully without any patchiness. When I swatch it on the back of my hand, nothing transfers or smudges. I usually avoid lipstick because of my dry lips, but this one works wonderfully for me. There's barely any color payoff. Since it has a powdery texture, it actually emphasizes how dry my lips are.
