I usually find scalp scrub products irritating because of the grainy texture, and the application process feels tedious. But this product is so convenient—I just spray it on and massage it in, and I'm done. I was worried the ginger scent might be overpowering, but it's subtle and pleasant. After rinsing, my scalp didn't feel uncomfortably dry or itchy, and when I dried my hair, that refreshing sensation felt absolutely amazing. Honestly, there's nothing really wrong with it. If I had to nitpick, the only thing is that because it's a liquid formula, it runs out pretty quickly. That's really the only downside.

Formula and Scent: This has a slightly thick consistency. Since it contains a high concentration of turmeric root extract, it has an herbal, medicinal scent that's quite noticeable. When you massage it in, it creates a light lather. My Experience: I love that you can use it before shampooing or as a shampoo alternative. It does create a nice foam when you work it in. The brand recommends using it 2-3 times weekly for dry scalps and 3-5 times for oily scalps, but I use it once a week. This brand also makes a tea tree product, and while this one isn't quite as stimulating as that one, it still delivers a really invigorating sensation. It feels even more refreshing and cooling than their cooling shampoo, which is wonderful for calming an overheated scalp. After using it, my hair doesn't feel dry at all, which I really appreciate. Once I'm done, my scalp feels calm and soothed, like I've just had a professional scalp treatment. The product goes quickly, so I'm definitely planning to repurchase. I bought this around early 2024 and used it occasionally with good results. However, starting in February this year, I noticed my skin turning red from shampoo lather running down my body. After switching out my shampoo and body wash completely, I stopped using this product. Yesterday I decided to give it another try, and I was honestly shocked. That's why I'm writing this review now. First, let me explain why I loved this product back in 2024 before I get into my concerns: ✓ Excellent cleansing power ✓ It has anti-hair loss benefits, and since I need a scalp scrubber anyway, I figured I'd get two benefits in one ✓ Creates a rich lather ✓ Has a cooling effect While I wouldn't say my scalp is extremely oily, I do have an oily scalp type. The other shampoos I was using back then (Treselle Night, Growers pink shampoo, Dr. Groot Aqua for itchy scalp) weren't giving me complete cleansing. After a few days, I'd notice buildup that felt like little granules of old sebum forming. That's why I used this product about once a week. It really did sweep away that stubborn buildup beautifully. The cooling effect felt amazing too. Honestly, I wasn't sure about the anti-hair loss benefits even when I was using it in 2024. If anything, my hair seemed to shed more when I was blow-drying, but back then I figured the scalp scrubber was doing such a thorough job that it was just natural shedding. I didn't think much of it at the time. I used this regularly last year, but after finding a shampoo that works better for me this year, I tried this again after a long time and experienced serious hair shedding. I'm talking about more than double the amount I normally lose. When I use my regular shampoo, even on heavy shedding days, I only find fewer than 10 strands in the drain screen. With this product, there were so many strands clumped together in the drain screen that they formed a visible ball. I was using a scalp scrubber with this, letting it sit while I washed my face. When I felt itching on my shoulder and turned around to check, that area had turned red. So this cleanser wasn't compatible with my body either, but I didn't realize that last year and kept using it without knowing. The strong cleansing power must be causing irritation. I didn't know I had sensitive skin until this year. Now I've realized I actually have quite reactive skin. If you don't have sensitive skin, this scalp scrubber would probably work great for you. After lathering, let it sit for about 1-2 minutes and your scalp will feel warm while the cleansing becomes even more effective. I use this before shampooing and my hair feels so much cleaner afterward. I'm really happy that I can refill it too, which makes it even better. I haven't found any downsides yet. Plus, the amount of hair I'm losing has noticeably decreased. My stylist mentioned that double shampooing works better, so that's what I've been doing. This product lathers really well, and the pointed applicator makes it easy to reach every corner of my scalp. (I should mention I've also been air-drying my hair, using a cool blow dryer, and using a scalp cooling tonic alongside this product.) Honestly, there's nothing bad about it! I also have an oily scalp that gets greasy quickly, and while this doesn't leave my hair feeling squeaky clean, it definitely reduces odor and keeps my scalp from getting as oily.
