I have combination skin that tends to be dry but gets oily as the day goes on. I bought this because everyone raved about it, and honestly... the main appeal is just the sense of anticipation that comes with using Sulwhasoo, you know? The scent is nice too. The powder particles clump together and settle into fine lines, which is really disappointing. No matter how I apply it, the coverage looks pretty rough at first. It gets a bit better once the natural oils come through, but that's true for all foundations anyway. People say a solid skincare base helps, but that's not the issue here. The dryness I'm experiencing isn't something that can be fixed with a little oil. I wonder if it's just because the weather is so dry right now. It feels so hydrating and I really love it. I can definitely tell there's something like an essence in it, though I'm not entirely sure what's in the formula. If you use too much base product, it can start to look greasy and heavy, which is a bummer.

This has been my go-to foundation for the past few months! Before this, I was obsessed with Double Wear, but it was so matte that I had to mix it with other foundations or a bit of hydrating cream to use it. Plus, I kept breaking out from the ingredients, so I spent years bouncing between different foundations. Out of the dozens I've tried since then, this one is my favorite by far. The skin finish looks beautiful, and the semi-matte application is so smooth. I just do a light powder touch-up in summer, and it stays comfortable without any dryness even in winter. The packaging could feel more luxe and the price point is definitely on the higher side, but I'm so happy with the product that I keep repurchasing it. I apply it with a brush and then tap it in with a sponge to finish. My skin tone is around 21-22, and shade 21N works perfectly for me. This product applies beautifully thin and I could really feel the benefits of the active ingredients like brightening and wrinkle improvement. The adhesion is incredibly strong. Even as time goes on, it holds up without breaking down or shifting. The only thing is that it dries quite quickly after application. Because of this, it's easy to end up with uneven patches or streaking, so I'd recommend being careful with your application technique. While it doesn't break down easily, I did notice it looked a bit dull and patchy in areas where my pores are more visible. I think that's because the shade wasn't quite right for me. I usually wear shades 22 or 23, but this time I tried 21N, which made my pores more noticeable. The 21N shade has a really nice color tone, and it applies beautifully—I can spread it effortlessly with just a puff. Even though the formula has a dewy texture, the coverage is impressive without feeling heavy. I appreciate that it doesn't leave my skin feeling parched. Honestly, I prefer this over glossy finishes. This is the first foundation I've tried that stays hydrated and dewy even with generous application! It's such a great choice for dry skin types. For a neutral shade, it runs quite yellow. I have fair skin with pink undertones and a cool blue base (shade 21), and when I apply this, it looks completely off on me! I'm not sure if the darkening happens right away or if it's from the formula itself, but even with foundation on, my complexion looks dull and flat. The coverage is really weak too—it barely conceals my dark circles. Since this is a dewy formula, you'll definitely experience it transferring onto your mask and disappearing with the slightest touch or movement. This seems like a good option for those with deeper skin tones. If you have shade 23 skin and want a brighter, more luminous finish, or if you have dry skin, I'd recommend it. Update after 3 hours: This foundation seems to get lighter and adhere better as time goes on! The yellow undertone is still there, but it did brighten up nicely. However, it still doesn't match my skin tone well, the coverage remains disappointing, and there's some darkening happening, so I don't think I'll use it again. Even after 3 hours, it still feels hydrated though—though I imagine winter might be a different story! I'm upgrading my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars.

The coverage is impressive, and I love how hydrating it feels. It applies with a light, dewy finish, but don't let that fool you—the coverage is actually really solid. Best of all, my eyes feel completely comfortable with no irritation whatsoever. As the day went on, I noticed it started to emphasize my smile lines a bit, and there was some slight puffiness around my cheeks. That said, considering I was out in the sun all day and walked over 12,000 steps, the staying power held up pretty well. I did need to do some touch-ups throughout the day, especially in areas where the product settled into fine lines and creases.
