I absolutely love using The Lab by Blanc Doux products. They feel amazing on my skin and the hydration is incredible, so I find myself reaching for them all the time and I'm really happy with them. 1. My skin barrier was really compromised, but after using this product alone at night, my skin balance improved so dramatically that I was honestly shocked 2. The hydration is fantastic 3. I love that it's fragrance-free 4. You can use it as a standalone treatment at night without layering other products and still get great results 1. It does have a slightly oily feel to it 2. I have dry skin and this product feels so hydrating! The texture isn't too thin, and it spreads beautifully on my skin. I can't really think of anything I'd change about it. I thought an emulsion would feel heavy, but when I applied it to my skin, it absorbed beautifully without any stickiness. The formula is really impressive! Just so you know, I have oily skin, so I'd especially recommend this for anyone with oily or combination skin rather than dry skin. I remember using the same line cream from this brand when my acne was even worse, and it really helped calm everything down. That's why I decided to give it another try, and I'm so glad I did! It has oil but feels hydrating and fresh. When I apply it right after cleansing, it feels moisturizing, and when I reapply it later, I can feel the oil. But after applying it, my skin feels incredibly soft and powdery. (The sensation is quite unique.) Since serums and toners don't work well for me, I layer this product multiple times, and surprisingly it works fine. I love that it doesn't cause redness, and it's like a standard, everyday emulsion but with the added benefit of improving my skin barrier. I really enjoy how it finishes with a soft, fresh feel. I'm not sure if it's because I'm using this alone or if it's the formula itself, but I can't tell if the hydration is really that exceptional. I don't think I'll be able to use this during winter. When I use it with the toner from the same line, the application feels smoother and the hydration seems to work even better.

I'm serious about this, and if it ever gets pulled from shelves, I'm going straight to the company headquarters. This emulsion is truly legendary. I'm not exaggerating when I say I'm on my eighth tube right now. I have really reactive, sensitive skin that's prone to contact dermatitis, so I used to rely heavily on steroid creams, which made my already delicate skin even thinner and more fragile. When things got really bad, I tried everything under the sun. I even went through almost an entire tube of steroid cream because the irritation was so severe and nothing seemed to help. Then I stumbled across a blog post raving about how amazing this emulsion was for contact dermatitis. Honestly, every other product I'd bought based on blog recommendations had disappointed me, but I figured this was my last shot. I was half-skeptical when I ordered it, but it became my absolute holy grail. I genuinely can't live without it. If I had a beauty blog, I'd be posting about this product every single day. Here's how I use it: normally, I apply it just like any other skincare product. But when my dermatitis flares up, I cleanse thoroughly with a gentle cleansing milk, skip the toner, and layer this emulsion on like a mask, applying it two or three times. I'll be honest, it doesn't absorb super quickly, so if you try to rub it in, it gets a bit white and streaky. Instead, just apply it gently and wait about a minute between each layer, then apply again. After about ten minutes, the red, inflamed areas completely calm down. It's honestly incredible. The only downside is that it can feel a bit sticky when you layer it multiple times, so I only use this method in my nighttime routine. Now, even when contact dermatitis starts to appear, I can prevent it from getting worse with this emulsion, so I don't need to go to the dermatologist for steroid prescriptions anymore. I haven't been to my skin doctor in over two years, and I used to go once a month. I'm so happy about that. Contact dermatitis is frustrating because once it starts, it keeps coming back. I was exhausted and stressed about it, but this product is like a shield for me. I want to be clear though, this product doesn't cure the condition or prevent it from ever happening. That's not what I'm saying at all. What I mean is that for me, it stops the flare-ups from spreading significantly, which is why it's my holy grail. If you struggle with frequent contact dermatitis, I really encourage you to try it. It might work as well for you as it does for me. There's literally nothing disappointing about this product. If it ever gets discontinued, I'm going to the company headquarters. Just so you know. When contact dermatitis flares up, after cleansing and skipping toner, apply this emulsion thickly like a mask, layering it two to three times with about a minute between each application. Wait ten minutes, and your red, irritated skin returns to your natural tone with all the itching completely gone. I'm not sure exactly when I started using it, but I've been using it for quite a while now. What I love most is that after applying it, there's no sticky or heavy feeling left behind. The formula itself has a lightweight texture that makes it so easy to apply. My skin is extremely sensitive and tends to be oily, and while this product worked great for me before, lately it doesn't seem to provide enough hydration. I think my skin barrier might have become compromised, which could be why the moisturizing effect feels a bit lacking now.

Using just one product alone feels like something's missing. Layering it with other products works perfectly though.
