I've been using the cica cream and decided to give the foam cleanser a try, and my damaged skin has really bounced back! My usual slightly alkaline cleanser leaves my skin feeling super tight right after washing and noticeably dry, so I expected the same from this one. But even though it's slightly alkaline, this cleanser doesn't leave that uncomfortable tightness, and instead of that drying sensation, my skin feels refreshed and hydrated! Before I switched to this foam cleanser, I was using both slightly acidic and slightly alkaline products from another brand. The slightly acidic one actually made my skin worse the more I used it (my contact dermatitis wasn't improving and I kept getting heat sensitivity and severe flaking). The slightly alkaline one worked okay for my skin, but it left my face feeling so uncomfortably tight after cleansing that I just didn't want to use it. Turns out the slightly acidic formula wasn't right for my skin type at all, and even the slightly alkaline option from that brand wasn't a good match for me. I'm really glad I made the switch! Honestly, there's nothing bad about it. Compared to other slightly alkaline cleansers, this one doesn't leave that harsh drying feeling, and I haven't experienced any breakouts. For reference, my skin is combination and dehydrated, and after dealing with contact dermatitis, it's become more sensitive and dry depending on the season and products I use. If you wear makeup, a second cleanse is definitely necessary. While this slightly alkaline formula has good cleansing power, other slightly alkaline products are stronger, so you might find this one isn't quite enough as a first cleanse! Also, a lot of people think slightly acidic is always gentler and better, but that's not necessarily true. For dry skin, slightly acidic isn't always the answer, and for oily skin, slightly alkaline isn't always the solution either! The real key is finding what actually works for your specific skin type. Trust me on this!
