I was worried about retinol side effects, so I chose a product with next-generation retinol that has fewer concerns. I was originally using a 2% retinoid plus squalane formula, but it was discontinued, so I switched to this one. It applies as smoothly as an emulsion and doesn't feel greasy. I definitely notice improved skin texture the next day after applying it. Personally, I've also tried 5% retinoid, but I didn't feel a significant difference in results compared to the 2%, so I settled on the more affordable 2% option. Since it's recommended to use it within 3 months of opening, the shorter usage window made me stick with the more budget-friendly 2% version. I'm not sure if it's just my imagination, but the product seems most effective right after opening, and the effectiveness appears to fade over time. The recommended usage window is 3 months after opening, and I especially notice the results drop off once that period passes, so I replace it with a fresh product when I feel the effectiveness declining. Since I can't expose it to sunlight, I only apply it in the evening, which makes it difficult to finish the product within the recommended timeframe. Store in the refrigerator and write down the opening date. It's recommended to use it within the suggested timeframe. The texture is slightly heavier, so I apply it after my skincare routine but before my moisturizer step. - hp********Da khôDa nhạy cảmLàm sáng da / Đốm thâmKhô từ bên trongNếp nhăn / Độ đàn hồiĐược đề xuất14/09/2025 (UTC+0)
I have very dry and extremely sensitive skin. I'm giving this my highest recommendation just because it doesn't irritate my skin at all. As someone with reactive skin, I never thought I could use retinol, but I've been mixing a small amount with my hydrating moisturizer, letting it absorb, and finishing with a regenerating cream. It's working beautifully without any issues. Nothing really to complain about. If you're new to retinol, this is definitely worth trying. Just start with a small amount.

I use this every other day by mixing three drops into my Madeca cream. The difference in my skin texture the next day is really noticeable. I only apply it in the evening, and after toner, I apply a ceramide serum and mix it into my cream before bed. My skin feels so much softer the next morning. Since my skin is sensitive, I'm careful not to overdo it and stick to three drops every other day. I'm using it very comfortably without any irritation or skin issues. There's nothing really to complain about. The only thing is that the dropper picks up quite a bit of product, so you need to be careful about contamination when using it. If you have sensitive skin, definitely mix this with a cream before using it. Try applying a product that supports your skin barrier first, like a ceramide product, and then use a retinol. I think sensitive skin types will find it much more comfortable that way. - zx******Da thiếu nướcDa nhạy cảmDa dị ứngKhô từ bên trongNếp nhăn / Độ đàn hồiLỗ chân lông toMẩn đỏĐược đề xuất25/06/2025 (UTC+0)
Everyone was raving about how retinol is basically a cheat code for pores and aging in general... but my skin barrier was completely compromised, so I just couldn't bring myself to try it. Then I watched a video from Jayna, and she mentioned that third-generation retinoids have been developed for people with sensitive skin who can't use regular retinol! It wasn't even a sponsored video—it was genuinely helpful content about how to use retinol based on your skin type. Anyway, she recommended this product from The Ordinary, and I'm already on my fifth bottle! I mainly apply it in the evening, and the first thing you notice is the firmness... it's honestly amazing. Your face just feels so lifted and tight? And it locks in moisture so your skin feels plump and bouncy... it's hard to explain, but your skin looks incredibly firm. Plus, the next morning your skin has this incredible glow! I think regular retinol probably delivers stronger results, but if your skin barrier is damaged or you have sensitive skin, I'd definitely recommend this instead. I've never had any breakouts from using it. And then there's the pore situation... it's seriously incredible! Honestly, for the first few months I didn't see much pore refinement, but since my skin texture improved overall and felt firmer, I figured I'd just keep using it. But now after more than a year of using it, my pores are so much less noticeable, and it's given me the maximum pore-minimizing results you can get from a home routine! If you're doing pore care, combining this with long-term use plus professional treatments will give you baby-smooth skin. I totally recommend it! No matter how effective a product is, we're only human—sometimes your skin just gets compromised! When that happens, stop using it immediately. Remember, too much of anything is never good. During those times, I recommend cutting back your basic skincare routine to the absolute minimum and avoiding active ingredients altogether. Otherwise, things get worse and it takes even longer to recover. Everyone, please take care of your skin barrier! Tip for sensitive skin: Complete your entire basic skincare routine with all the products you normally use first. Then, at the very last step with your moisturizer or emulsion, add 3 to 4 drops of this product, mix it gently in your palm, and apply it. Even if you have sensitive skin, it'll go on smoothly without irritation, just like it would for someone with normal skin! - pa***Da khôDa mụnĐược đề xuất22/06/2025 (UTC+0)
I have combination skin, and I really appreciate how lightweight this formula feels without any irritation. I think people with oily skin would absolutely love this product. I didn't have any issues when I was using Innisfree's PDRN product, but after switching to this one, I've been breaking out. - ym*****Da khôDa nhạy cảmĐược đề xuất26/04/2025 (UTC+0)
I have sensitive skin, so retinol makes my complexion really red and irritated. This retinoid alternative is completely gentle with zero irritation. It doesn't deliver dramatic overnight results, but I can definitely see improvements with consistent use. I'm already on my second bottle and plan to keep going. It's not quite as effective as traditional retinol when it comes to visible results. That said, since it doesn't cause irritation, it's a great option if you're new to this type of treatment and want to ease into it. - em******Da dầuDa mụnLàm sáng da / Đốm thâmBã nhờn / Mụn đầu đenLỗ chân lông toMẩn đỏĐược đề xuất14/12/2024 (UTC+0)
A beginner to intermediate retinol perfect for oily skin. The Ordinary's oil formula feels sticky and doesn't absorb well, making it inconvenient to use, but the emulsion version absorbs beautifully and leaves a clean, refined finish. Since it's not overly irritating, it seems ideal for those with oily skin who want to start their retinol journey. The requirement to store it in the refrigerator is quite inconvenient—if you don't have a dedicated skincare fridge, it's a hassle. True to The Ordinary's style, it has an honest chemical smell that's pretty noticeable. Plus, it's not stocked at Olive Young, so it's difficult to test in-store. This product ranks high in satisfaction among The Ordinary's lineup, but it seems underrated and not well-known, which is a shame. Do not store in direct sunlight. Please keep it refrigerated. - zn*******Da hỗn hợpDa nhạy cảmDa mụnĐược đề xuất06/10/2024 (UTC+0)
I was interested in anti-aging solutions and searched around online for recommendations before purchasing this product, and I'm really happy with it! 1. Absorption This is a lightweight yellow serum with excellent absorption! What I loved most was how quickly it absorbs into the skin. When I apply it to dry skin and gently pat it in, it sinks in fast without any sticky residue. Even after layering other toners and essentials, a few gentle pats leave minimal tackiness. Honestly, I've tried a retinol product from the same brand before, but that one had an oil base so it didn't absorb well and felt like it was just sitting on top of my skin. This product, though? It absorbs beautifully. 2. Scent It has a slightly earthy, soybean-like aroma that might not be for everyone. But since I appreciate natural, wholesome scents, I actually loved it! 3. Results I used this alongside a lifting treatment. My skin tends to be combination, with dryness and tightness around the outer edges of my face. But when I use this serum with a lifting treatment and emulsion as part of my nighttime routine, my skin feels noticeably more hydrated the next morning! 4. Oil Content Since this is meant for nighttime use, the oil content didn't bother me. That said, I do notice some shine around my nose area the next morning. But it's not the kind of oiliness that clogs pores or causes blackheads—it feels more like a protective barrier, which I appreciate. 1. Storage The instructions recommend refrigerating it, so I kept it in the fridge, which is honestly a bit inconvenient. That said, it's definitely not a dealbreaker for me. 2. Packaging The dropper bottle is convenient, but the cap doesn't seal completely, so I've accidentally spilled it a couple of times. 3. Nighttime Use Only This isn't really a downside, but since it's a retinol product, you can't use it in your morning routine. Just apply generously before bed and you're all set. This works even better when combined with a lifting treatment! Just keep in mind that this combination can be quite stimulating for your skin, so I only use the lifting treatment about once every three to four days to be safe. - nh********Da khôDa nhạy cảmBã nhờn / Mụn đầu đenQuầng thâm mắtKhô từ bên trongNếp nhăn / Độ đàn hồiLỗ chân lông toTế bào da chếtĐược đề xuất28/09/2024 (UTC+0)
Perfect for retinol beginners! The first application feels a bit tingly, but your skin adjusts quickly with continued use. It absorbs beautifully, and when you layer a hydrating moisturizer on top, you'll wake up with gorgeously plump, dewy skin the next morning. The only minor issue is that the container lid doesn't have a secure cap, so it pops open quite suddenly when you open it. Pro tip: Apply a hydrating essence or treatment before your emulsion for maximum results and enhanced benefits!

I'm working through the entire anti-aging line, using each product until it's completely finished. Rather than looking for synergy between products, I wanted to see which ones work best for my skin individually, so I'm using this as a standalone. The great news? It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all! I've only been using it for about a week, but I'm already noticing changes. My skin feels firmer and tighter, and honestly, the results came faster than I expected. That lifted, plump feeling is real! What's impressive is how quickly it absorbs. It sinks in immediately without any need to spread it around, which means it goes faster than I anticipated. Here's the interesting part: even when I use it alone, I don't get that uncomfortable feeling of dehydration. My skin's surface feels so firm and lifted that you'd think it would be parched, but it's actually fine on its own. It's honestly a fascinating product! I'll let you know if I repurchase once I've completely emptied the bottle. Doesn't work for me! I'm currently using it together with the product shown in the photo. I'm using it together with the anti-aging set that's recommended as a pairing, and they work beautifully together. At night, I use both products as part of my routine.
