I have combination skin, and I can honestly say that after just one week of using this, all my flakiness disappears and my skin feels incredibly smooth I really, truly had absolutely nothing to complain about! I'm giving this my strongest recommendation - pi***********Da hỗn hợpNếp nhăn / Độ đàn hồiĐược đề xuất13/10/2025 (UTC+0)
I'm still using it and can't say for sure if it's working, but I do feel less worried about wrinkles It feels a bit too oily on my skin, and honestly, the price isn't exactly budget-friendly - sy*****Da khôDa nhạy cảmDa mụnLàm sáng da / Đốm thâmBã nhờn / Mụn đầu đenKhô từ bên trongĐược đề xuất04/10/2025 (UTC+0)
I'm on my several bottles now, and I've really noticed a significant reduction in pores on my nose. Blackheads and enlarged pores used to bother me constantly, but now they barely catch my attention at all. I can barely tell they're there anymore. Honestly, if you stick with this product consistently, it's truly amazing for fine lines and pores. Results may vary from person to person, but at first I did experience some mild stinging on my face, which was a bit uncomfortable. However, once I gradually increased the amount I was using and let my skin adjust, it worked out great for me. When you use the retinol and hyaluronic acid ampoule together, your skin feels noticeably more comfortable and soothed. I really recommend using a hydrating ampoule alongside it for the best results.

Getting into the details: For those who already know, retinol breaks down into retinaldehyde and retinoic acid during absorption. Nowadays, there's even HRA, the cutting-edge retinoid ingredient. I actually focused on retinol until two years ago, and last year I tried retinaldehyde. While retinaldehyde is supposed to be less irritating than retinol, when I actually used it on my face: 1) I hated how it caused yellowing on my entire face 2) Even when I increased the percentage of retinaldehyde products, I didn't feel like things were improving 3) Product effectiveness seemed to vary by brand, so even with higher percentages, results were disappointing. I just couldn't build confidence in it 4) After trying various brands and products for a year, I realized that without more research data, I didn't want to keep using my face as a testing ground With prescription skincare being discontinued anyway, and Paulas Choice not working for me, I thought I'd just stick with Aesop retinol. But then the new HRA retinoic acid serum launched, and I felt motivated to give it a try. 1. I tried tretinoin cream prescribed by my dermatologist containing retinoic acid for wrinkle improvement, but my sensitive skin couldn't handle it and I developed dermatitis. After going through cycles of recovery and flare-ups, I gave up after just one month. 2. After an exhausting year dealing with retinaldehyde, my face was completely compromised by tretinoin cream for a month. I was so worn out that I didn't have the energy to search for alternatives. So for the next few months, I stuck with Aesop Super Bounce Retinol, which worked well for me. Using it consistently alongside the Aesop Vitamin 40% mask was great, and I enjoyed watching my dark spots gradually fade. 3. But as I got older, the fine lines around my eyes and forehead deepened. I considered trying the Aesop 0.3% tube again, but it felt too irritating and the formula was too heavy and creamy to apply all over my face. So I decided to try The Ordinary HRA instead. 4. There are actually several products with HRA, but as I mentioned, I didn't want to become a test subject like I did with retinaldehyde. I wanted to try one more time with HRA before giving up on non-tretinoin alternatives at minimal cost. 5. I tried ordering from Coupang but it was out of stock, so I ordered from Olive Young instead. (The Olive Young version had an older expiration date, so I prefer Coupang's.) As soon as it arrived, I applied half a pump with the dropper. Because of the squalane, it felt oily with a glossy finish, giving my skin that dewy glow that dry skin types love. But since squalane is a lipid-based oil component, it absorbs quickly without feeling sticky. For someone with very dry skin like me, I sometimes forget whether I even applied it because my skin becomes so hydrated. My face just feels plump and bouncy to the touch. 6. The formula is yellow in color. Some reviews mention pillowcases turning yellow, but after I let it fully absorb and pressed a tissue on my face, no yellow transferred. It seems like if you let it absorb completely, the yellow won't transfer. Since it's quite oily and nutrient-rich, unless you have extremely dry skin, you can use it alone. There is some irritation though, so I recommend first calming your skin with a hydrating hyaluronic acid ampoule, serum, or toner, then applying it or mixing it in. (I mentioned in my review that I use it with The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule.) Also, after applying this, you probably won't need a heavy cream. In this weather, even in winter I struggle, so I just spray a panthenol toner mist heavily. I tap it in thoroughly and even use a device to help it absorb. 7. The container is a brown dropper bottle, but since this ingredient is sensitive to light and air exposure, I transferred 15ml to a 30ml vacuum container (bought from Coupang) and stored the rest in the refrigerator. I mixed the remaining 15ml with The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule and Roundlab Panthenol Ampoule. Since you're supposed to apply retinol and then a ceramide cream, and it's summer so I didn't want to bother with heavy creams, I planned to use it with an ampoule packed with hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and ceramide ingredients to help with absorption. 8. Wanting to use it up quickly, I applied it morning and night for a week. But I couldn't use it in the morning, so from the second week on, I only used it at night. 9. No irritation, and from the second week, fine lines noticeably improved. The results were great. Most importantly, the barrier-strengthening effect was amazing, probably thanks to the squalane and the ampoules I mixed in. 10. As I always say, The Ordinary products are close to pure actives. Instead of ingredients like panthenol or butylene glycol that provide hydration or form a moisture barrier, they focus on the main active ingredient, which is why they're affordable. Don't use it alone. There is irritation. Always mix it with a hydrating cream that works well for you, or a hyaluronic acid ampoule, hyaluronic acid toner, or cream. For those with dry skin or wanting to strengthen their barrier, I recommend the panthenol line, but check if it works well for you first. 11. Three months later, I've finished the first 15ml I transferred and the second 15ml I stored in the refrigerator. Of course, I used a generous amount. I finished it in just under three months and want to use more, but right now I'm testing the blue Aesop Retinol. After using it for a month, I'm planning to repurchase The Ordinary. The difference in results is bigger than I expected! As I always say, good ingredients don't necessarily make a good product. Since irritation can be significant, think carefully and try mixing it with gentle products that have worked well for you in the past. The oily feeling is strong and irritation is significant when used alone, which is disappointing. Even for very dry skin like mine, it's difficult to use during the height of summer. Mix and layer it with hyaluronic acid ampoules and barrier-strengthening toners. I also recommend starting with a 2% concentration. - rk****Da hỗn hợpDa nhạy cảmLàm sáng da / Đốm thâmBã nhờn / Mụn đầu đenKhô từ bên trongNếp nhăn / Độ đàn hồiLỗ chân lông toMẩn đỏTế bào da chếtĐược đề xuất23/08/2025 (UTC+0)
This product delivers excellent hydration, making it perfect for winter use. It felt too heavy and greasy on my skin, which gave me an uncomfortable sensation. - su********Da hỗn hợpBã nhờn / Mụn đầu đenLỗ chân lông toĐược đề xuất03/03/2025 (UTC+0)
After my thirties, I've been jumping between different retinol serums, so when someone recommended an oil product, I decided to give it a try. I was a bit nervous since I'm already somewhat adapted to retinol, but I took the plunge and bought the 5% concentration. I thought the application would be messy and inconvenient since it's an oil-based formula, but honestly, it's not nearly as troublesome as I expected. At first, I didn't apply it every day—just twice a week—and gradually increased the frequency. The results are amazing! I noticed my complexion looked noticeably brighter and more radiant the very next day after application. While other reviews mention it's great for pores, I'm really seeing incredible brightening effects. The skin-brightening benefits are seriously impressive. People say the squalane ingredient is good for pore management, but I'm honestly not sure I notice that benefit. Also, because of the oil's color, I have to be careful about it staining my pillowcase. - co*********Da dầuDa mụnĐược đề xuất05/07/2024 (UTC+0)
I've been using tretinoin cream regularly, but I found it frustrating to deal with flaking for a week after each application. This retinoid product addresses those drawbacks beautifully, which I really appreciate. Since it's a rare high-concentration formula, I keep repurchasing it consistently. I'd recommend this to anyone who's already comfortable using vitamin A derivatives like retinol. It seems like using it once a week is about the right frequency for me. - ha*****Da dầuBã nhờn / Mụn đầu đenLỗ chân lông toĐược đề xuất18/04/2024 (UTC+0)
I was already using The Ordinary's Retinol 1%, and I loved it so much that I decided to increase the strength and repurchase! I heard that Retinol 1% delivers powerful results but with strong irritation, while Green Active Retinoid 5% gives you powerful results with gentler irritation. And it's totally true, haha! I'm avoiding the eye area when applying, but I can definitely feel less irritation. I was told not to use it together with AHA/BHA, but I'm using them together anyway... and that's when my skin gets that nice textured feel, haha! Nothing really. Once you open it, you have to store it in the fridge, so you're constantly taking it in and out of the refrigerator, which is kind of a hassle. If you have sensitive skin, don't use this together with AHA/BHA products. - vs********Da hỗn hợpDa nhạy cảmDa mụnĐược đề xuất23/08/2023 (UTC+0)
After about a month of using this, I haven't seen dramatic results yet, but I've definitely noticed my pores look more refined and the fine lines around my eyes have become less noticeable. Since I've only been using it 2-3 times a week, I haven't experienced any negative side effects so far. - si*****Da hỗn hợpDa nhạy cảmĐược đề xuất16/07/2023 (UTC+0)
First off, it's gentle on my skin and even though it's an oil, it feels incredibly hydrating when I apply it. I used to avoid retinol because it was too irritating, but this retinoid is perfect for sensitive skin like mine. I know I need to keep using it consistently for the antioxidant benefits, but since I've only just started, it's too early to say if it's really working yet.
