This is the perfect retinol product to start with. I barely experienced any irritation, so I felt confident using it as my first retinol treatment. With consistent use, my skin texture became noticeably smoother and those pesky bumps gradually disappeared. The oil-based formula keeps my skin hydrated without any dryness, and when I apply it at night, my skin feels incredibly soft and supple the next morning. The product does have a fairly rich, oily feel that might feel heavy or uncomfortable for those with oily skin. Also, since the results don't show up super quickly, you really need to stick with it consistently to see a visible difference. I apply just one or two drops to my palm after cleansing completely dry skin, then massage it in evenly across my face. I layer a thin moisturizing cream on top, which helps me use it without any irritation and significantly reduces flaking. To be safe, I started by using it just two or three times a week during the first few weeks.

It's got that rich, oily texture to it. The scent is pretty much unscented, though I wouldn't say it smells particularly pleasant either. Excellent value for money. It contains squalane, which really helps combat dryness. Way too oily and sticky. It feels greasy, but it doesn't seem to create a protective barrier, so my skin still feels dry. Plus, my skin flakes after using it sometimes. Suitable for sensitive, combination (oily and dry) skin I was honestly shocked by how noticeably my skin texture improved the very next day after first using this product. I started using it for brightening, but truthfully, I can't really tell if it's brightening my skin. What I do notice is that when my skin responds well to it, my texture improves and my skin feels slightly more luminous? Since this is essentially a retinol-infused oil, the absorption isn't the fastest, and those with oily skin might experience some noticeable shine. My cheekbones and cheeks tend to be quite dry, so initially I actually felt less dryness. However, because the first impression was so good, I ended up applying it generously every single day, and even though I rarely get congestion, within just a few days I started breaking out with small bumps... ;; Because it's pure oil, you really need to be careful about how much you use. Also, on days when my skin feels even slightly sensitive, even a single drop causes a stinging sensation. But because I notice my skin looks better on days when I use it correctly, I can't bring myself to stop. After some trial and error, I've settled on using just a tiny amount once or twice a week. hehe This isn't the easiest product to use. Whether you have sensitive or oily skin, you absolutely need to control the amount carefully, so really, proper dosing is essential with this one. Please apply only the tiniest amount.
