This cleanser is super gentle and won't irritate your skin. The only thing is it doesn't remove excess oil, so on days when my skin gets really oily, I switch to something stronger. It's perfect for a daily cleanser on makeup-free days. When I do wear makeup or sunscreen, I use a cleansing balm first, then follow up with this as my second cleanse. I used the Vegan Effect barley cleanser for about 2 years, but when I wiped it off with a toner pad, I felt like it wasn't cleansing properly. I've tried cleansing oils, balms, gels, and milks, but with those hydrating formulas, I could never quite tell if my skin was actually clean, if the product was rinsing off properly, or if that slippery feeling was just leftover residue versus actual moisture. This is the first time I've experienced that deep, genuine hydration from within, and it's exactly what I was looking for.
