The color comes out exactly as I wanted it to, and it looks beautiful. The application is smooth and blends so nicely too! Out of all the tints I've tried so far, this one is at the top. The color payoff is absolutely stunning and vibrant, delivering exactly the shade you see in the bottle. Shade 212 sits beautifully between a warm brick and spicy red-brown tone. What really impressed me is how the tint stains your lips while keeping its true color instead of shifting to pink like most tints do. Despite not being a hydrating formula, it feels surprisingly comfortable and doesn't emphasize dry patches at all. When you first apply it, there's a nice dewy feel, but it settles into a soft matte finish as time goes on. The fragrance is elegant and subtle without any artificial or off-putting notes, which I really appreciate since I tend to skip lip products if the scent bothers me. This one gets it right! I picked this up without knowing my undertone, and it turns out it's not the best match for my skin. I have a light undertone, and shade 212 leans toward that warm brick and spicy red-brown range, so it would probably look better on someone with autumn undertones. I'm not sure if I'm cool-toned or warm-toned, but this shade works beautifully on me regardless! The velvet finish is amazing because it doesn't feel sticky or heavy at all. The color is rich and perfect for layering on the inner lips, and while it has that gorgeous brick-red tone, it leans a bit lighter than I expected! I'm absolutely loving this! The color is gorgeous and the staying power is fantastic. I was worried the bright red shade might not suit me, but it's such a versatile product! I can layer it lightly over another lip color or use it as a pop of color on the inner lip, and it looks amazing either way. This is one of those shades that works for everyone—seriously hard to get wrong! As a full lip application, it feels a bit heavy for me. Even when I apply it thinly, using just this product alone doesn't give me the look I want. I'd recommend pairing it with another lip product for the best results!

This is the ultimate chili red - it's exactly what I was looking for. It has a velvet tint finish with a slightly creamy feel, kind of similar to a sensual powder matte texture. What I love: The color is absolutely stunning and so flattering That signature Yves Saint Laurent lip tint scent though - it's pretty distinctive and honestly a bit off-putting for me. It really announces itself! Biggest downside: The staining is messy. When I apply a water tint, it leaves uneven, patchy color that looks sloppy, so I usually stick to velvet tints or water-based formulas instead. But this one stains in such a messy way that it looks dirty. When I take my makeup off, people ask if I bit my lips or if I'm bleeding - it's that obvious and unflattering. I really miss the Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Rouge Volupté tint from before.
