If you have dry skin, I wouldn't recommend this. It's not really hydrating enough for me - it's just a basic moisturizing cream, nothing special. For dry skin types, this doesn't feel hydrating enough, so I end up applying it multiple times or layering a richer cream on top. This emulsion seems to work really well as a lightweight formula for summer. The application goes on smoothly and absorbs nicely into the skin. I had a bad reaction to a facial treatment that caused severe contact dermatitis. My dermatologist recommended strengthening my skin barrier with an MD cream and suggested I find a good moisturizer. I was searching around, but most creams looked so heavy and thick that I was worried. Since I have combination skin that tends toward oiliness, I knew that heavy products would trigger breakouts. After lots of careful searching, I finally discovered this product, and it's absolutely amazing! Honestly, it has zero oily residue on my skin, and it still delivers the hydration I need. During summer, I only used this with a hydrating ampoule. What's incredible is that my dermatitis actually improved! I was dealing with itching and flare-ups for over six months, constantly applying steroid cream, but this product has been a total game-changer for me. I think I'll be using this forever. If you have combination or oily skin and heavy creams don't work for you, I really recommend trying this. In winter, using just this alone feels too drying for me, probably because I have combination skin. So lately I've been doing hydrating sheet masks or layering a light moisturizing cream on top. The problem is I haven't found a good hydrating cream yet, so I'm just using an old one I had before. I apply it in about two layers.
