At first, I loved how refreshing and cooling it felt on my irritated skin. I thought it was exactly what my heated complexion needed. The more I used it, the more it started to sting and irritate my skin. I noticed bumps forming, so I stopped using it altogether. I found this serum works so much better for my skin than the houttuynia cordata serum! I have oily skin that's dehydrated underneath, and this really seems to help prevent breakouts from forming.

What's disappointing... I regret making this purchase. I haven't noticed any real standout benefits from Zimogen's serums, so I'm questioning why I bought this particular serum. I've repurchased their serums multiple times and tried their cream once, and even when I used the cream sample they provided, I realized their creams work so much better for me than their serums. This product absorbs beautifully and spreads so smoothly across the skin. I picked it up hoping to minimize my pores, and while I haven't seen dramatic results yet, I really love how it sits perfectly on my skin without feeling heavy or greasy. If you apply this right after dealing with oil or breakouts, it can feel quite stinging and uncomfortable. It does seem to have a tightening effect, but honestly, it's not enough to overlook the irritation. When you use it after a facial mist, it feels so much softer and more comfortable on your skin.

The texture feels like a soothing gel, and it works wonderfully when applied cold. It absorbs quickly too. When I apply it after toning, I can feel a slight tingling sensation on areas with larger pores. While my pores didn't necessarily shrink, I noticed less oil production and no breakouts! I thought the tingling meant irritation, but my skin actually looks clearer. It's supposed to be a pore product, but honestly, my pores didn't get smaller. My nose pores are naturally quite large, and this only causes tingling on that area. Plus, when I apply it all over my face, it feels really drying. After using this, my nose area tingles so much. When I cleanse, my skin feels like it's peeling and looks irritated. I've been applying it cold right after using a pore mask. Then I finish with a calming balm to soothe.
