I've been using Arkwell Control X Cream so much that I'm already on my fifth tube, so I grabbed this Balancing Cream as a bundle when I was restocking. Since it's Arkwell's most popular cream, I was curious and decided to give it a try. I went in with pretty high expectations. It has a lightweight, hydrating texture that delivers moisture with a subtle boost of nourishment. True to its hydrating formula, it spreads smoothly and leaves skin feeling refreshed and dewy. Overall, it made a solid impression on me. It feels more suited for oily to combination skin rather than dry skin types. When I used it during summer, there was definitely a bit too much oil content for my liking. The Control X Cream feels clean and lightweight when applied, but this one has a heavier, more moisturizing feel that made me feel a bit weighed down. This is my absolute holy grail product that I've been using for over 5 years. My skin is incredibly sensitive, and I constantly deal with congestion and breakouts on my forehead. I've tried so many other products, but they all make my skin worse. What I love about this one is that while it doesn't necessarily clear up my acne, it's incredibly gentle and soothing. It simply hydrates my skin without causing any irritation whatsoever. The only downside is that the moisturizing effect is a bit light, so I need to apply it generously during winter. But honestly, whenever I use heavier moisturizing products, my breakouts flare up immediately. That's why I'm so happy with this one—it delivers amazing hydration without the irritation.
