I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a moisturizing lip product. I'm not a fan of matte lipsticks because they feel so dry, so I love using hydrating lip balms like this one. The formula feels nourishing, the color payoff is beautiful, and it lasts surprisingly long if you're not eating or drinking. Since this has such a dewy finish, it tends to pick up hair easily. The soft formula means that even when you twist it carefully, the product gradually pushes forward a bit, which can be frustrating. May is such a subtle shade that it works wonderfully as a topper. Try applying a more saturated color on the inner part of your lips first, then layer May over it for a gorgeous blended effect.

I had high expectations because of all the positive reviews, but honestly, this isn't a product I'll reach for regularly. There are similar lip formulas from other brands, and this one doesn't really stand out. The texture doesn't build up nicely when you layer it—it just gets patchy instead. I thought it would be like a lip balm, but it actually needs your lips to be in good condition before applying. You can really see the dry patches and fine lines through it. And the color isn't anything special either, so it's just... underwhelming. First off, the magnetic applicator makes it so smooth, and the case itself feels incredibly soft. The keyring loop on the lid is such a clever touch. The color is absolutely gorgeous and has this luxe, sophisticated vibe. There's no emphasis on fine lines whatsoever. The lip shine and moisture level are seriously impressive. It works beautifully as a base shade and looks amazing on bare lips too. Since it's a glossy balm, it's a bit sensitive to temperature changes. You need to be careful when applying it over your lips because it can clump slightly if you're not gentle. Store it in a cool place rather than somewhere warm. Use it as a base shade to add a subtle highlight to the inner lip. Layer it with a more vibrant, shimmery lip color for extra dimension. This lip balm has incredible moisturizing power. I have extremely dry lips and usually need to slather on Vaseline just to feel any relief, but this one makes my lips feel hydrated the moment I apply it. The color payoff is basically nonexistent. You can barely see any color on the lips. I have extremely sensitive, reactive skin that's quite delicate, and my lips are super sensitive too. I'm someone who used to get chapped lips as a standard reaction whenever I applied the wrong lip product, plus severe swelling and itching. But this one is so gentle and amazing that I can even apply it before bed and sleep in it! Plus it exfoliates dead skin, and for a lip balm, the color payoff and staying power are seriously impressive. Totally recommending this! There's more red tone in it than I expected. I was hoping for a muted mocha look with really subdued saturation and depth, but that's not quite what I'm getting. A bit of a hit-or-miss product.
