But it's not the type that applies messily or excessively, so I don't bother wiping off the excess at the tube opening. I just use it straight from the start. Since it has an ultra-lightweight formula, it creates light and clean lashes. Even though the wand isn't particularly thin, I was worried it might deposit too much product on my eyelids. But when I actually tried it, the formula releases surprisingly little product—almost as controlled as a skinny wand! The key difference is that despite the larger brush, the mascara applies with minimal product transfer, so you can build coverage really sheer. It's labeled as smudge-proof and supposedly resistant to both water and oils. I haven't tested the oil resistance, but it definitely holds up against water! Once it sets, rubbing doesn't cause it to flake or smear. Even if I rub quite firmly, there's only minimal clumping. That said, I'd never apply that much product or rub that hard in real use, so for everyday wear on the lashes, it's practically smudge-proof. Honestly, out of every mascara I've ever tried, this one is the lightest! I used to think a certain other brand was the most lightweight, but this feels even more feather-light. It doesn't feel like you're wearing anything, and it sets incredibly fast. Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, apply this well, and your curl locks in place beautifully. That said, I did notice some curl drop in my case. It doesn't hold up as strongly against the moisture from wearing a mask. Since I have naturally droopy lashes and monolids, when I wear a mask throughout the day, the curl doesn't last as long as I'd hoped. Note: Everyone's experience may differ, so this is just based on my personal experience.

It applies naturally, removes cleanly, and goes on with a lightweight feel that I'm obsessed with. The curl hold is impressive and stays put all day. It applies strand by strand with precision, almost like a skinny, detailed brush. Just lift from the roots and you get a flawless finish with zero clumping. Honestly, there's really nothing major to complain about. If you're looking for bold, dramatic definition, this might not be your pick.
