This shade works beautifully as a base color. The pigment payoff is rich and intense when applied directly, but when you blend it out, it reveals a gorgeous pink-toned hue that's even prettier than you'd expect. The fragrance has a sweet, sugary scent that's a bit strong for my taste. Since I have sensitive skin when it comes to fragrances, this one felt a little overpowering for me.

The color turned out much darker than I expected, which means I can't wear it on its own. If you're not careful, your lips can look completely bare and washed out. I've been using this lip product for years now, and when I apply it as a base lip with a slight overlining technique, it looks absolutely gorgeous. Even though it has a cool tone, it doesn't feel patchy or separate from my natural lip line at all. The staying power is a bit on the weaker side, and I think it would work even better if I chose a warmer shade. I trust Peripera and absolutely love it! The Ink the Velvet is amazing, and I'm collecting every single shade. Honestly, there's really nothing disappointing about it. The lightweight, powdery formula feels so comfortable to apply, the adorable packaging is absolutely charming, and the affordable price makes it a worry-free purchase that won't break the bank. I bought this after getting recommendations that it works great as a lip base. The nude shade has excellent color payoff and the formula adheres beautifully to the lips. Since I have a deep autumn skin tone and naturally darker lips, this doesn't correct my lip color as smoothly as I'd hoped. Instead, it feels like I'm just layering beige on top. When I use it as a base and apply another color over it, the orange undertones become more prominent. Without a lip liner, the red tones show through more noticeably. If warm terracotta or orange coral shades don't suit your complexion, I wouldn't recommend this as a lip base either. This works best as a base lip product for those with lighter skin tones.

This works wonderfully as a lip base with a beautiful shade that blends seamlessly with other colors On its own it looks a bit dull, but when you layer it with other shades it looks really pretty
