For the front of your brows, draw upward strokes. Then starting from about a quarter of the way in, use short, light strokes with a slight curve toward the tail. The old pencil-style hard formula was inconvenient because I had to keep going back for sharpening, but the new product is so much easier since I just need to swap out the auto refill. I picked up the bright brown shade for my hair color, and it turned out to be a really versatile, no-fuss color to work with. Plus, the auto type has a screw brush on the back, which makes it super convenient to carry around. Even though they say it's the same core formula, I found that the pencil type actually applies better. The pencil also felt more comfortable to hold and control compared to the auto type. With the pencil, I could use it all the way down to the very end, but with the auto type, I can only use the part that shows at the top, so it runs out faster and feels like a waste of money. I've been using Yoai for my eyebrows for 8 years now. At first, I thought the eyebrow pencil price was steep, but honestly, because I've used it for so long, it actually feels more affordable than other brow products. It applies smoothly and draws beautifully. You can create both natural-looking brows and bold, defined brows with this one product. Getting sharp, defined brows with this is honestly impossible. My routine is usually to brush through with the spoolie first to comb the hairs in the right direction, then draw with the pencil, and finish by brushing through again with the spoolie. It comes out looking so neat! Make sure to choose your shade carefully! The automatic hard formula comes in various shades, so I'd recommend picking one that matches your natural brow color perfectly.
