I wanted to have both a deep shade and a bright, fresh color, so I picked raspberry! It's moisturizing and has great color payoff, so it works perfectly as a lip balm substitute It melts really easily, so I'm worried it might be difficult to use when it gets hot

The shade is this perfect pink that just works beautifully with cool undertones, and honestly, the scent is what really gets me. It applies so smoothly and effortlessly that I always carry it with me. This is my fourth repurchase! Since it's summer and I'm outside for long periods, the product does melt a bit. That said, it's definitely still usable and not difficult to work with.

The color is absolutely gorgeous, and when applied smoothly, it gives such a beautiful glossy finish. The shade is really delicate and subtle, making it perfect as a base layer. Plus, you can twist it back in when you're done! If you apply it when you have dry patches, it'll lift right off them, so it's not really designed as a lip balm to smooth over flaky skin. Also, the edges tend to get pretty messy, which is a bit of a downside. Pro tip: don't swipe it on in one motion. I usually skip lipstick because it wears off so quickly, but I decided to trust Wake Make and give it a try. I'm really happy that it came with a complimentary lip pencil, and the shade seems perfect for my cool undertones. When I applied it on bare lips, I worried it might make my lips look too prominent, but it actually gives a nice fresh glow. I think it'll look even prettier when I wear it with a full face of makeup. At the store, I tested it without the lip pencil and didn't notice this before, but the color has this strawberry milk vibe to it when paired with the pencil in Cool Rosy Berry. Just the lipstick alone gives a deeper pink shade, though it's hard to describe the exact color. The complimentary lip pencil is such a game-changer because one product creates two different looks, and depending on how you use it, you could even get three variations. I personally skip using just the pencil alone because it looks a bit too nude and washed out on me. When I apply just the lipstick, it feels a bit dry, but once I layer the pencil underneath, it becomes so much more hydrating, creamy, and smooth. The application is absolutely flawless. Since my lips have a lot of fine lines and tend to get chapped easily, I usually only wear matte finishes or tints because matte formulas just look patchy on me. This product is honestly everything I could ask for. I used to get by with two tints for about a year, but I finally decided to buy a lipstick again after a long time, and I'm absolutely loving it. I don't have any complaints yet. Of course, since it's a lipstick, it will transfer onto cups and tissues, but that's something I'm willing to accept. Since the lipstick formula itself is quite soft, there's a risk of it breaking or crumbling if you're not careful. I recommend twisting out just a little bit at a time and doing the same with the complimentary lip pencil. If you have fair skin with light undertones, this is a tricky shade to pull off - it doesn't work well if the color is too vibrant or has too much white in it. I've repurchased this product three times already! The finish is gorgeous and it's become my everyday essential! The staying power isn't the strongest, to be honest. That said, I haven't found anything better yet!
