It absorbs beautifully. I miss it when I don't have it. This is a product I've been consistently repurchasing. The shelf life seems quite short. If you leave it for a while, the color changes. It's expensive, so I can't use it as often as I'd like. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 2, 2020
Absorbs beautifully into the skin. Not sure about its effectiveness on redness, as claimed. Bought it on a friend's recommendation - apparently it's their holy grail product! Can't believe it's been discontinued... I used to buy it duty-free, but the price was always a drawback. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 9, 2019
I'm using this for dark spots and acne scars. Due to the price pressure, I buy it duty-free when I get the chance. The price is a bit steep. Since it's a whitening product, you need to use it consistently to see results. - my****Combination SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 26, 2019
I found this amazing deal at duty-free shops where Clinique would have sales every other day. They were probably trying to clear out stock closest to expiration. I'd always wanted to try their Laser Focus serum with the dropper, but I'd given up after buying that brown bottle from Est**. Big mistake, by the way! I still can't figure out why people love that brown bottle so much. Sure, it evens out the complexion, but shouldn't it also handle hydration for that price? It left my skin feeling super tight... Is that supposed to be anti-aging? What kind of logic is that? Anyway, during the Clinique sale, the Laser serum kept selling out - total madness! I finally managed to snag one when I traveled again two weeks later, timing it perfectly with the sale. But getting just one item seemed a bit of a waste, so I also picked up the Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector. It was pricier than the Smart Serum or Optimizer, so I figured it must be better, right? And wow, what a game-changer for me! I bought it without even checking the ingredients! Why? Because I've had so many products with 'perfect' ingredients that did absolutely nothing for my skin. By the way, it seems European cosmetics often use Ascorbyl Glucoside for brightening, while Korean brands favor Niacinamide. I think my skin doesn't respond well to Niacinamide. This product evens out my complexion as well as the brown bottle, but it's less drying. It doesn't leave my skin quite as silky smooth, though. They say you'll see amazing results after 4 weeks of consistent use, morning and night, but I started getting surprised when I looked in the mirror after just 2 weeks. 'Why is my face so bright? I haven't even washed it yet!' Keep in mind, my bathroom has super bright white fluorescent lighting that shows every single blackhead - it's almost unpleasant! But in terms of evening out my complexion, this is hands down the best brightening product I've ever used! 1. It's expensive 2. While it might be enough on its own for combination to oily skin in summer, it lacks hydration for dry skin types 3. The opaque packaging makes it impossible to tell how much product you've used or how much is left. It would be a disaster if it suddenly ran out mid-pump... Better stock up! 4. As far as I know, the 100ml size isn't available in domestic department stores. I'd recommend buying from overseas or duty-free shops Use 2-3 pumps to cover your nose (I usually avoid putting product there because it gets so oily) and neck too! Transform into a snow-white princess from head to toe! - gh*******Combination SkinAcne SkinJul 9, 2019
I think I'm seeing a slight improvement in my dark spots... Though it might just be my imagination.. After using up a whole bottle, I didn't notice any significant brightening effects. Also, sometimes when I apply this, it feels like it's clogging my pores, giving me a stuffy sensation. Considering the price, I don't think this product is worth recommending... - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 21, 2019
As someone with acne-prone skin, I've noticed my blemish scars gradually fading since I started using this. It's really great! The main drawback is definitely the price... It's so expensive that, like others, I only buy it when I can find it duty-free. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 15, 2019
In a word, it's fantastic! My complexion has become more even, and my face not only brightened but actually lightened, with a noticeable glow. It seems to work on dark circles too. I've tried many products claiming to be good for brightening, but I think I'll be sticking with this one. Everything's great except it's drying. I mean, really, really drying... If it weren't for this, it would be perfect! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 30, 2019
I bought this when Clinique was gaining attention for its whitening products, before the new renewal version came out. I've used over 10 bottles, and the brightening effect is truly remarkable. I didn't notice it while using it, but when I stopped, the difference became clear. I have several bottles of the renewed version stocked up, and I'm eagerly waiting to finish them so I can switch back to this one. It's amazing how a small amount provides hydration and brightening effects. It absorbs quickly into the skin without causing dryness. It's incredibly expensive. The price is seriously outrageous. I've been using Clinique for my skincare routine morning and night for over 10 years, and the amount I've spent on Clinique products alone is astronomical. Honestly, the price is just insane... There's no specific tip for this product. However, it's good to know that essence-type products are generally better used away from direct sunlight. That's why it's more suitable as a night care product before bed, rather than in the morning before heading out! - sm********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedOct 10, 2018
One of my holy grails! I've been using it for 5 years now! I have blemish-prone skin, and no matter how much I care for it, I still get one or two big breakouts, which naturally leave marks. However, with consistent use of this product, my acne scars are so minimal that people who see me for the first time don't even realize I have troubled skin! Of course, it's unrealistic to expect immediate results from any product. As mentioned in the instructions, you need to use it for at least 2 weeks, up to a month, to see effects. The results come very gradually, so by the time you finish a bottle, you'll be like, 'Oh? The marks have faded!' Plus, it applies smoothly and keeps my skin hydrated! The price... That's why I only buy the 100ml size when I can get a discount at duty-free shops, and it's still a big investment. It doesn't have much effect on melasma or age spots that come from beneath the skin. And as I get older, I notice the fading process is becoming slower. The scent might seem strange at first, but after using it for so long, I hardly notice it anymore! I only apply it as a spot treatment, so a 100ml bottle lasts me about 6 months. If you slather it all over your face without knowing better, it'll be empty in just 3 months. Also, it won't be effective if you apply it over products that form a protective barrier. Apply it right after your toner with gentle tapping motions! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJun 30, 2018
Unlike other vitamin-based brightening products that usually cause blemishes, this one didn't break me out. Both my sister and I received many compliments on how our skin improved after using this. I personally noticed my complexion became noticeably brighter. However, after using about four bottles, I didn't see any further improvement. I guess that was the maximum brightness my skin could achieve. So, I've stopped using it now.
