It was available at Watson's. Back then, I really tested over 10 different BB creams, wanting to buy a moisturizing one, and this one was incredibly hydrating, so I purchased it. I've been using my 6th one for the past 3 years, and I've also tried the Jasmine BB cream. I have a dry and sensitive skin type that's prone to breakouts. The coverage isn't particularly great, but I've tried BB creams and foundations that provide full coverage, and I really dislike the thick, smothering feeling where it feels like something is just covering up my skin. So even though the coverage is a bit less, I use a concealer and apply this hydrating BB cream. (This is just my personal preference). The water-based BB creams often use oil to create a dewy look, but this one is truly moisturizing, so it looks very natural! If you build a good skincare base, it looks beautifully dewy and hydrating. I'm a warm-toned 21-22 shade, and it matched me nicely. In the summer, I mix it with a slightly darker BB cream to make it work. The best part is that it breaks down beautifully!
ConsThe downside is that when I'm rushed in the morning and do my skincare routine hastily, or when I've been up all night studying during exam periods and my skin is in poor condition, it doesn't look as nice and breaks down more noticeably. And there was one day when I had an important event and ended up reapplying the makeup 3-4 times within 4 hours, and when you layer it on like that, it starts to look a bit grey... (But I think that would happen with any BB cream if you apply that much.)
TipAs I mentioned above, make sure to have a solid skincare routine! I don't use lotions or creams, but I do make sure to thoroughly apply toners, essences, and face mists.

Even for my oily, large-pored skin, it seamlessly covers the pores. Many people with problematic skin say this works well for them. It seems to work well for dry skin types, and oily skin isn't an issue either.
ConsIn the morning after applying makeup, by lunchtime the darkening is severe. My skin becomes ashen. The product itself is really nice, but the longevity and darkening are issues. The shade is a bit dark, but since it has so many other good points, I've used 7 tubes and plan to buy more. Mixing it with a lighter foundation helps control the darkening and color adjustment.
TipMixing it with a lighter foundation helps control the darkening and color adjustment. After using the Dior Capture Totale Radiant White, mixing this BB cream 50/50 with the Lancome Miracle Cushion Foundation gives an amazing result. For a more affordable similar effect, use the Skinfood Radiance Cream or Etude House Blur Cream, then mix the VDL Foundation with this BB cream.

Using foundation without any moisture content would cause my skin to crack and peel like a turtle's shell in no time. After an extensive search, I settled on the Beyond and Wart Drop products from Olive Young, which I found to be much more hydrating. Although I didn't have high expectations for the coverage, I was pleasantly surprised that it matched regular foundations. Except for the harshest winter months, the moisture lasts quite a long time. Plus, the creamy texture makes it a breeze to apply. I used to only focus on coverage and would wear matte foundations, which always felt lacking in terms of application. This has been a whole new world for me. The price is a bit steep, but I plan to continue using this product.
ConsEven though I have extremely dry skin, I tend to have oily areas around my nose. I often think my skin is overly oily, but tests always show that I'm actually lacking in moisture (the irony!). The oily areas on my nose can sometimes make the foundation look a bit uneven. There's also an occasional issue with the product gathering or darkening in certain spots. But overall, it's still incredibly hydrating and comfortable to wear, and the coverage is better than other products I've tried.
TipAs someone who is obsessed with coverage, I find that applying the foundation and then using the Maybelline concealer to cover any remaining blemishes or dark circles gives me a flawless, fully covered look. I've never actually tried setting it with powder or a finishing powder on top.

When I first squeezed out the product, I was surprised that the color was a bit darker than I expected. Since I didn't pay for it, I just decided to try it out. The best thing about it is that it's very moisturizing! I have extremely dry skin, so this is one of the most important factors for me. It feels as moisturizing as a lotion. The color starts off a bit dark, but it seems to get brighter later on. That could just be my perception, though. It's definitely not a bright BB cream color, but I initially thought I would just use it once and throw it away. However, I'm still using it well.
ConsThe design is not great, and the color is a bit dark. The moisturizing aspect is the biggest advantage, but it's also a downside because as time passes, my skin, which is already dry, ends up getting very oily, especially around my nose, which looks highlighted. The longevity also doesn't seem to be that great. The biggest issue I have is that it breaks down messily - the oiliness and patchiness make it look uneven, and even when I try to touch it up, the makeup ends up looking cakey and flaky. If it weren't for these issues, I would have considered buying it again, but the frequent need for touch-ups and the messy breakdown make me want to try something else once I finish this. However, since I've almost used it all up, it can't be that bad, right? The moisturizing effect makes my complexion look nice and natural, so there are plenty of good points as well!
