We've been applying it to our daughter since she was a newborn. She had severe diaper rash, and every time she had a bowel movement, she would get a rash. And even though I apply it diligently, I'll probably have to throw some away due to the expiration date... Anyway, by the time the baby is rolling around and crawling, they won't stay still for the mom to pat the cream in until it's absorbed ^.^......
