I love that it's fragrance-free. It's also quite affordable, especially if you buy it directly from Japan. Since the product has a very watery consistency, you tend to use more of it compared to other products. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAug 24, 2019
It's lightweight, has a subtle scent, and provides excellent hydration for moisturizing the skin The texture is a bit tricky - it tends to drip when applied with a cotton pad. There's also some pilling - Hwahae UserNormal SkinApr 24, 2019
It's wonderfully moisturizing and feels great. It seems to deeply hydrate my skin, so I think using this alone might be sufficient. You need to scoop it out with your hands, which can be a bit messy. Sometimes it drips through my fingers when I'm applying it. Still, the benefits outweigh this minor inconvenience. Try using the warmth of your hands to help it absorb into your skin better! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 1, 2019
As someone with super sensitive skin that can't tolerate just anything, I'm pleased to report that this product works well for me. While there was a slight tingling sensation initially, I experienced no issues afterward. I'd recommend it for those with blemish-prone or sensitive skin. The dispenser is generous, making application a breeze, and it absorbs like a dream. Recently, the packaging got a sleek makeover in Japan. It looks even more elegant now. Pro tip: it's cheaper if you buy it in Japan. It's perfect for light summer use, especially when paired with a milky product. There's a bit of a tingling sensation when you first apply it. (If discomfort persists, I'd suggest trying the regular version instead of the light one.) The product flows out quite freely, which might make controlling the amount tricky. Remember, it's just a toner after all. It absorbs quickly, which can lead to dryness in winter. If you're after more hydration, I'd recommend using it alongside a milky product. You might be wondering about the difference between the light version and the regular one. Having used both, I can say there's not a huge difference. The main distinction is that the light version seems to absorb (or evaporate) more quickly on the skin. If you want something more hydrating than the light version, go for the regular one. My suggestion? Use the light version in summer for a fresh feel, and switch to the regular version in winter for that extra moisture boost. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 9, 2019
As someone with acne-prone skin, I was pleased that it didn't cause more breakouts. The product absorbs quickly and cleanly right after application, which made using it a really enjoyable experience. I wouldn't recommend this for blemish-prone skin. The liquid formula is quite runny, so you need to be careful when applying it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 2, 2018
First off, it's incredibly lightweight with amazing hydration. It feels even lighter than the regular Gokujyun emulsion and seems to absorb better. It's transparent and truly feels like water - you could say it's colorless and odorless! Despite this, when you apply it two or three times, you get this delightfully plump feeling as your skin becomes deeply moisturized. The ingredients list is a bit disappointing, especially the parabens. Another downside is that it's so watery it tends to run easily. But that's about it for negatives! Don't just apply it once - let it absorb, then apply again, and repeat about three times. Your skin will become wonderfully plump! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 18, 2018
It absorbs into the skin so well, just like water! When I apply it before my moisturizer, it feels like I'm truly recharging my skin's hydration...! Because of its water-like consistency, it tends to run easily. Other than that, I can't really think of any drawbacks. It was definitely worth stocking up on 10 of these during my trip to Japan! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 17, 2018
I have combination skin with a slightly oily T-zone and very dry U-zone, plus I'm super sensitive. I heard Hada Labo Gokujyun was good, so I tried the 3-skin method. When I first applied it with a cotton pad, my cheeks felt a bit tight. For the second layer, I poured some into my hands, spread it on my face, and gently patted it in. It felt like my skin was drinking up the hydration. I did the same for the third layer, and I could really feel my skin soaking up all the moisture as I patted it in. Being sensitive, I was worried about potential blemishes the next day, but there were none at all. I'm still using it happily! Since it has a watery consistency, I'm extra careful when pouring it into my hands to avoid spills! - Hwahae UserOily SkinJun 4, 2018
It's definitely hydrating, that's for sure. The moisture seems to last quite a while. The texture is a bit too sticky... It's difficult to apply with an embossed cotton pad because it just runs off. This would probably be better for winter use. For summer, it might be a bit much... - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 7, 2018
I always had tiny blemishes on my cheeks, but they completely disappeared after using this for just two days. I'm not sure why, but I was quite amazed! As I continued using it, my skin always felt fresh and hydrated. This is my holy grail! Despite being an emulsion, the texture is closer to a liquid, which is disappointing as it tends to run when applying. It worked well when I soaked a cotton pad generously and left it on my skin like a mask. I'm sure many others are already using this method too. I recommend Hada Labo Gokujyun for those with dry and super sensitive skin.
