It's less drying than other whitening products like Sislex or Gelex. There's no burning sensation, tingling, or itching. It absorbs quickly with minimal stickiness, so the application is smooth. I can't comment on its effectiveness for melasma since I don't have any. I'm not expecting miracles, but I'm not sure if it's really fading my dark spots or brightening my complexion. It's not quite a 'Wow, this is magic!' kind of product. While many people focus on whitening in winter, I rotate between firming, whitening, and hydrating products depending on my skin's needs. I was bored with my previous Es-something brightening essence, so I decided to try this. I prefer daily skincare to delay the need for procedures, especially since I have thin skin. The pump dispenser feels smooth, and the product absorbs refreshingly without causing dryness, heat, or irritation. These advantages make me likely to repurchase it.
ConsThe artificial scent can be off-putting when I'm not feeling my best. It makes me a bit queasy. When I'm in good condition, it's somewhat tolerable. It's just not to my taste.
TipWith the warmer weather lately, I've been layering this product under a light, oil-free moisturizer, followed by sunscreen. Then I mix another dab of moisturizer with my foundation. This routine keeps my skin hydrated all day. While duty-free prices are a bit lower than retail, there are no samples, and points or coupons don't apply to this brand. Unless you're a Chanel devotee replacing multiple products, it's better to buy from a store. You can get samples to test (especially important for whitening products) and try other items like the Sublimage mask cream. The samples from stores are more generous than the stingy duty-free offerings. Their events aren't great either. Unless it's a duty-free exclusive Chanel set, I don't see much point in duty-free shopping for this.
