I'm not entirely sure, but it seems to absorb well. My friend with dry skin said she really likes it. The white cast is way too noticeable, and for someone with combination-oily skin like me, it quickly becomes greasy after a short while. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 29, 2019
Compared to other sunscreens, this one seems to do a great job at covering blemishes and redness, which is fantastic. When squeezing out the sunscreen, it tends to get a bit messy around the nozzle. It also leaves a slight white cast, so you might want to apply just a small amount. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 25, 2018
Compared to other physical sunscreens from the US and Europe I've tried, this has a relatively lightweight texture. It offers effective UV protection with a high SPF. Poor value for money. Difficult to control the amount applied. The white cast is excessive even for a physical sunscreen... I wonder if they even tested it before launch. Due to the intense white cast, it's impractical for everyday use, but it could work on the body in strong sunlight, hence the two-star rating. (If I could, I'd give it 1.5 stars) It's challenging to use on the face. Personally, when I had to use it in Europe during intense sun, I reluctantly walked around with a white face and neck. If you bought it without knowing, only use it on your body when in strong sunlight. If you don't have a use for it even then, it works well for removing sticker residue from jars. Massage it into the sticker residue, wipe off with a tissue, then wash with dish soap. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 19, 2017
Since I have sensitive skin, I can't just use any cosmetics or I'll get acne. But I tried Avene's other products and they seem to suit me well - no acne and they're gentle, so I think they're great. The white cast is way too strong, so if you don't control the application well, it can make you look too pale and shiny. Also, if you apply makeup on top of this, it seems to interfere a lot. At first it's fine, but later you'll see the oil coming through and the powder doesn't seem to absorb well. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2017
The product before the renewal was really to my liking, but this one has been renewed with much more whitening, which is a bit disappointing. The previous product was a much more natural beige, and it was truly a lifesaver for me. It seems they reformulated it to improve the ingredients. Since I can't use chemical sunscreens due to breakouts, this sunscreen is the only physical sunscreen alternative for me. My skin feels comfortable all day long, and I don't experience any breakouts at all. As long as I control the application amount, I can use it without looking chalky. The downside would be the whitening. If you apply too much, your face can turn a pale violet, looking almost like a cyborg. But since it's comfortable on the skin, there's not much that can be done about it. If you're not using it for all-day outdoor activities with high UV exposure, you can mix it with foundation and apply it. To avoid reducing the protection, you can just cover it with powder foundation or compact powder, which will make the whitish cast look more natural. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 9, 2017
As a person with dry and sensitive skin, this mineral sunscreen is less irritating. It's a bit tricky to control the amount as it's quite runny. There's quite a bit of white cast, but you can probably skip the base makeup. It might be too oily for oily skin types. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 3, 2017
I have not had a single skin issue. It has a moderate oily feel, so it's also good to apply like bare skin. I've been repurchasing it for 4 years. Since it's a physical sunscreen, there is a white cast. The opening is recessed inward, so the lid gets dirty. I use it as a base before applying foundation. I had severe closed comedones on my forehead, so I only apply the sunscreen on my forehead without foundation, and the white cast makes it look like I'm not wearing any makeup. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 20, 2016
When first applied, it is soft and has a slight white cast, which is not particularly beneficial. It does provide UV protection. The white cast was so severe that I almost discarded it, but I just left it as is. The white cast is that intense. When mixed with foundation at a 1:1 ratio and applied, it becomes an appropriate shade of white and works very well. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 6, 2015
Although it was said to have a blurring effect and good coverage, I've been using it like a base before foundation. It helps even out my skin tone and has sunscreen functionality, which I really like! When I use this and apply foundation very lightly, it seems to absorb well into my skin and my makeup lasts a long time. At first, I mixed this product with foundation like a BB cream, but they just didn't blend at all, and my makeup turned out terrible. And if you apply too much, the white cast gets really severe, and it settles into my large pores, which is not good. Make sure to thoroughly hydrate your skin as a base, then just use a pea-sized amount of this product and spread it very thinly over your face, patting it in with your hands. After that, apply your foundation, and your makeup will turn out great! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 22, 2015
I found and purchased a mild, non-comedogenic sunscreen. It's great because it has an oily texture. I like using sunscreens that leave a white cast, and I'm using it well. It also has a skin tone correcting effect. People who dislike white cast would definitely not be able to use it. It's beyond just a white cast; Since it's pinkish, it's really not good if you have reddish undertones. It's usable if you pat it in well and let it absorb.
