As it's designed for dead skin cell care, it moisturizes your lips and then, over time, lifts the dead skin cells for easy removal. It's more suitable for at-home care rather than as a makeup product. The reason I say it's good for at-home care is because, inevitably, it does cause a lot of dead skin cells to lift after application. If you're not using it before applying makeup, it's definitely great! - ha*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 13, 2021
This was my holy grail lip balm! When I apply it generously before bed, I wake up with plumped lips. Gently rubbing them in the morning makes the dead skin cells easily flake off! There wasn't anything bad about it... but it's been discontinued. I'll have to cherish what's left of my remaining product. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 4, 2020
Unlike other lip balms, this one doesn't clump up, making it incredibly convenient to apply. I can't think of any downsides - there wasn't a single thing I disliked about it while using it. - kh*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 1, 2020
I've tried all three of the canola honey lip balms, and personally, I think they're great in this order: Dead Skin Cell Care > Ultra Hydration > Canola Honey! As the name suggests, I preferred the Dead Skin Cell Care one because it seemed to actually help with exfoliation! Plus, I loved that it had no scent at all! I don't think there were any particular downsides to the product! It's a shame that it's been discontinued now though... - Hwahae UserDry SkinMar 18, 2020
A great promotion where you can buy one, get one free. I stumbled upon this deal when my then-boyfriend's lips were chapped, so I quickly bought a pair for us to share (now the boyfriend's gone, but the lip balm remains). The low price during the promotion matches its poor staying power. I had tucked it away unused, but now during the COVID lockdown, I'm trying to use it up quickly. I'm even wiping it with an alcohol pad before use. It feels like I'm just applying oil that evaporates with time. It seems there's usually a reason why most products get discontinued... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJan 30, 2020
This is my winter essential... I usually have very dry lips that develop a lot of dead skin cells, and I have a habit of picking at them. That's why I bought this lip balm. When I'm out, I apply it every 20-30 minutes, and it seems to significantly reduce dead skin cells and keep my lips moisturized, so I hardly pick at them anymore! What I'm most satisfied with is that, as it's a lip balm for dead skin cell care, if I apply it generously before bed, I wake up in the morning with lips completely free of dead skin cells...! It's such a blissful feeling, you know? Also, if I apply it generously about 30 minutes before doing my makeup and then wipe it off before applying lipstick, I get flake-free lips... My lip makeup goes on perfectly. I can't believe this product is being discontinued... The only slight downside is that after it dries, there's a bit of that characteristic lip balm stickiness, but nothing else to complain about! 1. Apply every 20-30 minutes when out 2. Apply generously before bed and wipe off in the morning 3. Apply generously about 30 minutes before doing makeup, then wipe off before applying lip makeup - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinAug 4, 2019
I really liked that it's almost fragrance-free. Lip balms with strong scents are just awful when they get in your mouth... This is just a regular, no-frills lip balm. My lips are extremely dry and prone to dead skin cells. Sometimes when I apply lip balm, as it dries, it seems to make my lips even drier. The worst offender was Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin, and this one did the same thing. I kept using it thinking it was better than nothing, but the flaking skin was so bothersome that I ended up picking at it and even made my lips bleed a few times. Looks like it's been discontinued? I guess this review doesn't matter much now... Vaseline is the real MVP, haha! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 10, 2019
I've been using this product for a really long time. First off, the packaging is incredibly sleek and beautiful. It moisturizes well, but I'm not sure about its effectiveness in removing dead skin cells. When applied, there's this sensation where it feels like the dead skin cells are forming into little balls (?) that roll around, almost like tiny granules. The lip balm container is quite flimsy, causing gaps to form and some of the product to leak out onto the tube. It's not particularly effective at removing dead skin cells either. It's just an average lip balm, but the price is a bit high considering its quality. - tb******Dry SkinRecommendedJun 12, 2019
As someone who struggles with a lot of dead skin cells on my lips and frequently uses matte lipsticks and tints, I found this product quite nice. It's a shame it's been discontinued. It genuinely feels like it's caring for the dead skin cells, as the name suggests. Despite containing canola honey, it doesn't have an overly sweet scent, but rather a subtly cool fragrance. The design is also pleasingly simple. Well... I'm not entirely sure if it's effectively taking care of the dead skin cells. I apply it during my skincare routine, then either gently wipe it off or let it absorb just before applying lip products. This helps prevent dead skin cells from appearing for a while when using matte lip products. - cl********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 18, 2019
1. Not too sticky 2. Applying matte lipstick over this lip balm without wiping it off creates a perfectly moisturized lip look 3. Reasonably priced (especially during sales) 1. Lacks significant hydration (which is why you can use it with lipstick without needing to wipe it off) 2. No major advantages compared to other lip balms 3. Claims to have exfoliating effects, but I didn't notice any significant results As someone who loves applying matte lipstick over lip balm, I found this product quite useful. However, it's not very moisturizing! I'd recommend it for those looking for a light, everyday lip balm.
