As someone with acne-prone skin, my face goes haywire if I use any cleanser other than this one. I think it's because of the exfoliating ingredients that help remove dead skin cells. The container is a bit inconvenient to use. It's somewhat better with the larger size since it comes with a pump dispenser. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 25, 2019
My face doesn't feel tight or cracked after cleansing. That's why I keep using it. The cleansing effectiveness is good enough to remove light makeup. I'm not sure if it helps with blemish care. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 28, 2018
After using it, I didn't experience any skin tightness, and with consistent use, my blemishes have decreased. While the price is admittedly a bit steep, I believe it's worth the investment! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 1, 2018
Seems great to use when blemishes and excess oil appear. I've bought the large size and used over 3 bottles. It's my absolute favorite item! The price difference between buying directly overseas and domestically is a bit disappointing. That's why I always purchase the large size from overseas. It's effective not only for facial blemishes but also for hand and foot eczema. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSep 21, 2018
The tea tree scent was refreshing, and after washing, my skin didn't feel squeaky clean. Instead, it felt smooth, as if a thin film had formed, similar to slightly acidic products. I've been going to a dermatologist for extraction of closed comedones and was in the maintenance phase. Except for a few tiny bumps, my skin was fine until the day before yesterday. Sigh... I've only used this for two days (morning and evening), and it's not even an emulsion-type product, just a cleanser. Yet, I've developed what seems like the beginning of pustular acne on my forehead - hard, wide, and inflamed under the skin. One blemish appeared yesterday, and another this morning, so I don't think I can continue using this. I've never reacted well to tea tree ingredients. Other tea tree cleanser samples made my skin too dry and itchy, so I didn't buy them. During puberty, I tried some tea tree product, but it was too harsh for me, so I eventually switched. I was using Amber Farm Salt Wash well, but when it was out of stock before renewal, I panicked and decided to try this product, which is said to be good for acne. Now I really regret it - it's twice as expensive too. There were no samples, so I opened the full-size product, and now I probably can't return it. I'm not someone who completely avoids chemical ingredients. I use products with caution ingredients if they suit me, but this one... I can't tell if it's because of the tea tree or the BHA, or both. Even the green Stridex was too harsh for my face, but it works well on my chest and arms for reducing bumps and blemishes. The phenoxyethanol also concerns me, as my skin reacts sensitively to products with ethanol and alcohol ingredients. Anyway, if you're considering buying this, please think carefully. I'm so stressed about my forehead now. It's only affecting my forehead, so I'm wondering if I should use it everywhere else except there. Use only a small amount and lather it with wet hands... However, be prepared for potential blemishes. If it suits you, use it, but if not... - ki********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 25, 2018
After struggling with acne for 25 years and trying various products, my skincare specialist recommended this, and my mother bought it for me along with the oil control emulsion. Since using it, I've received many compliments on my improved skin. It's truly amazing! When I use this, my skin doesn't feel tight and just feels great! The downside... the horrifying price. Although it's excellent, it's quite a burden to buy with my allowance. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 20, 2018
My skin feels soft and smooth after using this. The scent is pleasantly clinical, and I love that it's a gel type. I can definitely see a reduction in sebum buildup after use. I switched to this from Stridex because it was too harsh, and I haven't experienced any redness or skin irritation with this one. It's working well for me. Even though it's the same 0.5% BHA, this one seems to suit me better for some reason. It's so convenient - no need for cleansing oil or cleansing water, this removes all my makeup in one go. It's less irritating than double cleansing too, which is great! It feels a bit strong, so I'm using it only two or three times a week. I'm gradually increasing usage. It doesn't visibly eliminate blemishes right away, but it seems good for managing dead skin cells. People with resilient skin might be able to use it daily. - ri*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinSep 21, 2017
I've been a loyal user of Dermalogica for over a decade now. I remember using this product when I was younger and struggling with adult acne. If memory serves, my skin felt incredibly dry after cleansing with this. The ingredients are really disappointing. Dermalogica, please stop letting us down. This cleanser is just too drying. Even if you have blemish-prone skin, you don't necessarily need to use an acne-specific cleanser. Look for a gentle, slightly acidic cleanser with good ingredients instead. This advice comes from someone who's been there. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSep 12, 2017
I'm currently using both the Special Cleansing Gel and this product, and surprisingly, this one doesn't irritate my super sensitive skin at all. It's incredibly effective on those pesky little bumps that appear under my chin every summer. I use the Special in the morning and Medibac in the evening. Even though I have extremely dry skin in winter, this doesn't cause any deep dryness and feels great! There's nothing to complain about except the price being on the higher side. The packaging is a bit inconvenient since it's not a pump dispenser. And did I mention the price is quite steep? Here's a pro tip I learned from my dermatologist: it's important to adjust your cleansing products according to your skin's condition each day. I'd recommend using this along with a low pH cleanser for best results! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinFeb 20, 2017
I've been using this product for 3 years since first encountering it at a dermatologist's office, always buying the large size. For my oily skin that lacks moisture, it seems particularly effective against blemishes. A small amount is sufficient for cleansing, so don't overuse it. If you don't buy the large size, it's quite expensive, and it can leave your skin feeling tight. The product has a gel texture and doesn't produce rich lather. During skincare treatments at the dermatologist's office, they cleanse with this product, mixing it with a bit of water for a double cleanse. In other words, even a small amount mixed with some water can effectively clean your skin.
