Please keep this in mind! I bought this product after a cosmetics expert at the drugstore recommended it for its sebum control and matte finish. Unfortunately, it really didn't work for me. If I had to find some positives: ✔️No eye irritation My skin is incredibly sensitive, and my eyes are even more so. I always prioritize products that don't irritate my eyes, so the lack of eye irritation was a bit of a silver lining. ✔️Absorbs well The texture wasn't too runny or too thick, and it spread easily on the skin. I liked how smoothly it applied.
ConsOh, the downsides... I have so much to say! Let me explain one by one: ✔️Skin irritation (likely due to avobenzone) 8-9 times out of 10, within a minute of application, my skin temperature would spike dramatically. It felt like I had a severe burn - the pain was intense, forcing me to wash it off immediately. The other 1-2 times, it just caused stinging and a burning sensation. I suspect the avobenzone doesn't agree with my skin. Even after washing it off, my skin continued to burn and feel irritated for about an hour, forcing me to go out without makeup. ✔️Excess oil When I tested it on my hand, it seemed to have a matte finish. But maybe I should have tested it on my face? Initially, it felt firm with just the typical sunscreen oiliness. However, after 1-2 hours, I could feel and see the oil building up to an uncomfortable level. I seriously doubted its sebum control claims. ✔️Makeup pilling Unless you apply the tiniest amount and put extra effort into your base makeup, your face becomes a mess with makeup sliding off like it's melting. It was shockingly bad - almost impossible to fix. ✔️Blemishes I usually only get small blemishes, with maybe one cystic acne spot per month at most. But after switching to this sunscreen (keeping all other skincare and makeup products the same), I immediately broke out with 4-5 cystic acne spots. It was awful!
TipIf you're sensitive to avobenzone like me, you might want to think twice before purchasing this product.

ConsThe ingredients that many people mentioned are concerning, and when applied, it gives a slightly burning sensation.

Oh, it is quite rich in oils, so it might be suitable for those with dry skin lacking in natural oils.
ConsOh no, this product stung from the very beginning. I ended up using it on my arms and legs when going out, just to use it up. It was so irritating and itchy, I simply couldn't bear to use it anymore. I'm avoiding the entire La Roche-Posay line now. Products from the same brand tend to have similar ingredients, so I suspect they won't suit my skin either.

It has great absorption and doesn't leave a heavy white cast, making it perfect for daily use. The pump dispenser is convenient, so you don't have to squeeze the product out.
ConsThe price is quite high. I looked into butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, one of the UV filters in this product. It's also known as avobenzone, which can be quite irritating and may cause a burning sensation or eye irritation for some people. Some reviewers mentioned feeling a burning sensation, and my mom experienced the same when we tried it together. Although I didn't have any irritation, it might not be suitable for everyone, especially those with super sensitive skin. Of course, if it works well for you after trying, that's great.

What else is good... hmm... Well...
ConsAfter applying, my cheeks felt tingly with a burning sensation and heat. I don't even have particularly sensitive skin, but it was so intense that on the first day, I was so shocked I washed my face again. And the biggest drawback is that it causes terrible pilling with makeup. It rolls off like dead skin cells to the point where I wonder if I bought a face peel instead... It's heartbreaking. I shouldn't have trusted just the hand swatch test. I really felt the difference between facial skin and the back of the hand. It's such a waste that I'm just leaving it to use on my arms. So disappointing.
TipI'd only recommend this to those with resilient skin who plan to use it alone without other products. Absolutely cannot be used under makeup.

The hot spring water content keeps it moisturizing.
ConsI thought it would be gentle, but perhaps due to my sensitive skin, it caused a burning sensation after application.

The absorption is decent, and it seems to have a brightening effect since the cream is white.
ConsI've been using it for 4 days now, and there was a severe burning sensation from the first application. I'm usually quite tolerant and can endure burning and pain well, but a blemish appeared on my cheek where I rarely get them. I'll keep using it because I don't want to waste money, but if another one appears, I'll have to toss it. Finding the right cosmetics by trying them one by one like this is going to cost a fortune!
TipLet's all be careful when switching to new cosmetics products.

ConsAlthough I don't have particularly sensitive skin, I occasionally felt a slight burning sensation after application. It wasn't a daily occurrence, so I decided to keep using it. However, I suddenly broke out in blemishes and had to stop using it...T-T I had high hopes because of the gentle ingredients, but it seems Avène might not be suitable for me. (For reference, I previously used Innisfree consistently without any issues)

Initially, when I tested it on the back of my hand, everything seemed fine. Since I'm a big fan of mists and use them regularly, I naturally assumed this one would suit me too.
ConsHowever, as soon as I applied it to my face, I felt a cool, tingling sensation. At first, I thought it might be okay, so I continued to pat and spread it. But gradually, it became more than just a tingle - my skin started to feel irritated, and I developed redness and hives. It was really uncomfortable! To make matters worse, even though I had patted it in thoroughly, the product didn't absorb well. Instead, it pilled up like dead skin cells, creating a powdery residue that was difficult to remove and made cleansing a challenge. Since there were no issues when I tested it on the back of my hand, I strongly recommend doing a patch test on your face, perhaps on your jawline, before purchasing.
