Perhaps because it's from Germany, it has an unfamiliar scent reminiscent of schnapps. The glass-breaking application method is concerning, even if it's special glass. The small individual portions make it hygienic to use. My skin was quite dry, so it stung a bit when I first applied it, but with consistent use, I noticed the issue gradually resolved. The high price and glass packaging are drawbacks. I'm a bit concerned about glass fragments getting in when opening it. Since you can't use an entire bottle in one day, proper storage is essential. This product alone doesn't provide enough hydration, so you definitely need to apply a moisturizer afterward. I generally don't have major blemishes, but as someone with dry skin, I've been concerned about dryness and a dull, yellowish complexion. By chance, I discovered the German Babor ampoules through a group buy hosted by an Instagram celebrity I follow. Apparently, these are famous as the 'actress ampoules' or 'Jun Ji-hyun ampoules' used in luxury German aesthetic clinics! It was my first time investing a considerable amount in skincare products (I'm usually the type who's lucky if I remember to apply toner and emulsion after cleansing, and moisturizer before bed). So, I decided to start with just one box of the Babor Hydra Plus ampoules, their signature line! The Babor Hydra Plus ampoules have a transparent, toner-like texture, true to their hydration-focused formula (much thinner compared to the oil-based multivitamin version). I find the ampoule quantity quite generous for a single use, so I've been splitting each one into two applications - evening-morning or evening-evening. It's important to note that Babor ampoules contain no preservatives, so they must be used within 24 hours of opening. My experience with the Babor Hydra Plus ampoules? They really seem to hydrate from deep within, addressing that deep dryness. Plus, they absorb well without leaving any sticky residue on the skin's surface. When I use them, I typically apply half an ampoule in 2-3 layers, gently patting it into my skin each time to ensure proper absorption. As we transitioned from fall to winter, I was struggling with deep dryness despite using moisturizing products. But since I started using the Babor Hydra Plus ampoules, I haven't felt that tight, dry sensation at all! However, they don't provide surface-level moisturization in the skincare routine, so I highly recommend following up with an emulsion or cream to create a protective skin barrier. It does feel refreshing on the skin. The hydration was severely lacking. I tried applying it during the essence step, but for my extremely dry skin, this ampoule was woefully inadequate in terms of moisture. I won't be repurchasing. Also, every time I opened it, there was a chilling sound of glass breaking - I'm not sure if it's just me doing something wrong. Even after opening, the glass edges were uneven and felt dangerous. While other products open smoothly, this one scares me due to its strong glass. I'm worried glass particles might have gotten inside. It does have a refreshing feel. While it seems to provide some hydration, it lacks deep moisturizing properties. As someone with very dry skin, I immediately follow up with another essence or ampoule that's more moisturizing. Those with oily skin might find the light texture suitable. Each vial seems to contain enough for 2-3 applications. I used it generously and got two uses out of it. If you find this insufficient for hydration, like me, you'll need to layer it with more moisturizing products. I'm using this along with a hydrating product and vitamin serum. I'm really satisfied with how moisturizing it is. The glass bottle makes me a bit nervous every time I need to open it. It's also a bit inconvenient since I have to always open it for my son to use.

While it might be slightly less moisturizing than the vitamin line, it has a nice water-based feel without being oily. Considering the high price, I was disappointed to find on Hwahae that the ingredients aren't as good as expected. Also, the glass packaging is a hassle and potentially dangerous, requiring you to open the glass stopper every time. I have oily skin that's dehydrated and sensitive. This product absorbs well without pilling or feeling sticky. It has significantly reduced deep dryness and even brightened my complexion. While it's hygienic, the glass bottle means you need to be extra careful when using it.
