The color seems to be a red with a hint of rose mixed in. When applied, it accentuates dead skin cells and fine lines less than other matte lipsticks. It's been discontinued from official retailers! Still available for purchase online and in stores though. It comes off easily with just a wet wipe. I'm not sure if it's because I'm used to long-lasting products, but being a lipstick, its staying power wasn't great. Over time, it may start to emphasize fine lines or dead skin cells. Applying it with a lip balm at first might give a prettier result. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinApr 26, 2016
I went to check out the popular Salsa Red, tried it on along with a few others, but surprisingly, New York Red looked much better on me. I'm not sure which skin tone it suits best, but with my black hair and slightly fair complexion, this shade made me look more sophisticated and prettier than Salsa Red. The color payoff is great and I really like it. It's slightly matte? But as someone who used to wear MAC Retro Matte, this feels softer... Applying it as a full lip color might look a bit dated, so try a gradient application instead. It's really beautiful that way. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 14, 2016
I received this as a birthday gift from a friend. The color is a perfect blend of red and pink. When you dab it on, the pink tones shine through, but when applied more heavily, it goes on as a deep red, true to what you see in the tube. It's slightly darker than in the photos. Above all, the case is absolutely adorable! As expected from a matte lip product, it can be quite drying. You'll definitely need a lip balm if you want to apply it lightly by dabbing. The protruding part on the side can be tricky - if you're not careful when wiping it, it can smudge and you'll have to redo your makeup around the mouth area, which can be a hassle.
